Chapter 396 - Chapter 396

"Director, from the space wormhole, a suspected large-scale heavy-duty mechanical warship has appeared again."

"Currently, only armor-piercing bullets can penetrate the opponent's metal shell, but the damage caused remains unclear."

Roar!

Nick Fury watched the black mechanical battleship, resembling a flying fish with a fully armored shell, as it loomed ominously on the screen. Beside him, Hill was analyzing the situation in her usual calm demeanor.

On the screen, mechanical battleships shaped like monstrous flying fish surged out of the wormhole one after another. Their grotesque forms released a hoarse, mechanical roar as they spread destruction, obliterating buildings and causing chaos in all directions. Waves of intruders poured out of these metallic beasts, launching relentless assaults on the city below.

Nick Fury's face remained expressionless, but his tightly clenched fists betrayed the tension coursing through him. As Hill's analysis concluded, Fury's voice cut through the room, steady and commanding.

"Contact Johnny and initiate Plan C. Mobilize resources and provide cover."

"Understood, Director," Hill responded, swiftly moving to execute his orders.

Johnny Blaze stood in the dimly lit command module of the sky aircraft carrier. His voice was a mix of disbelief and determination as he addressed the tactical screen in front of him.

"Coulson, this plan of yours is absolutely insane," he said.

"The situation is already dire," Coulson replied, his tone somber. "We're out of options. If we don't go all in now, we may not get another chance."

Johnny's eyes flickered to the adjacent monitor, which displayed scenes of New York City engulfed in devastation. High-rise buildings lay in ruins, fires raged uncontrollably, and countless civilians were either dead or desperately fleeing the relentless attacks of the invaders. A heavy silence hung in the room as Johnny absorbed the grim reality.

After a moment, he exhaled deeply, nodding. "I'll do my best."

"Johnny," Coulson said, his voice firm yet encouraging, "This is on you now."

With those parting words, the screen blinked off, leaving Johnny alone in the room.

The city's cries echoed in Johnny's mind, mingling with the guttural voice of Zarathos, the Spirit of Vengeance, as it whispered in his thoughts.

Sin. Enormous sin.

The wails, the anger, the despair… it's intoxicating.

Johnny stared at his hands, the flickering flame within him burning hotter with each passing second. He remained silent, letting the voice rage on as he prepared for what was to come. Around him, the once-bustling command room was now eerily empty. The entire sky aircraft carrier seemed to hold its breath in anticipation.

Click.

Johnny's hand pressed the ominous red button before him. The voice of the ship's artificial intelligence echoed through the room:

"Hell Carrier program initiated. Mr. Johnny Blaze, good luck."

With a low hum, the interior of the sky aircraft carrier plunged into darkness. Then, with an explosive roar, hellfire erupted, engulfing the command room and spreading rapidly throughout the ship. Flames licked at the cold, metallic walls, transforming them into molten, infernal structures.

Within moments, the entire aircraft carrier was consumed by the hellfire. From the outside, it was no longer a sleek military vessel but a terrifying monstrosity wreathed in flames. Its smooth surfaces twisted into jagged, spike-riddled armor, while weapons mounted on its frame became grotesquely enhanced with infernal designs. It exuded raw, otherworldly power.

"Power," Zarathos's voice reverberated in Johnny's mind. Such immense power.

Johnny's blazing skeletal form emerged from the center of the infernal transformation. "Let's purify this world of evil!" he declared.

With Johnny at its helm, the Hell Carrier surged forward, its hellfire lighting up the battlefield. The Chitauri soldiers below turned their grotesque faces toward the approaching vessel, their cries of alarm echoing through the air.

"Hell Carrier online," the AI declared, its voice now warped by the influence of hellfire. "Firepower at maximum. Purge the sinners."

The infernal weapons mounted on the Hell Carrier sprang to life. Machine guns, missiles, and flamethrowers unleashed torrents of destruction. Fiery bullets ripped through the Chitauri ranks, and hellfire-coated missiles incinerated their warships. Those struck by the flames were reduced to ash in mere moments.

Even high-rise buildings and vehicles in the vicinity bore the residual marks of hellfire, their surfaces scorched and twisted.

From the carrier, hellfire-imbued fighter jets launched into the skies. Acting as wingmen, they swooped down on the invaders, raining fire and death upon the enemy. Though tethered to the carrier's infernal energy, these jets were devastatingly effective, cutting through enemy forces with ruthless efficiency.

Johnny's fiery gaze turned to the mechanical monstrosities resembling flying fish. These warships, with their sharp metal exteriors, were wreaking havoc on the city.

"Target locked," the AI announced.

With a wave of his skeletal hand, Johnny unleashed several hellfire missiles. The projectiles struck their targets, erupting into a blazing inferno that clung to the mechanical beasts. The invaders roared in defiance, their massive forms writhing and crashing into buildings as they tried to extinguish the flames.

Blue gas spewed from their mouths in a futile attempt to douse the hellfire, but it was no match for the unrelenting flames of vengeance. Within moments, the hellfire consumed them, reducing their once-imposing forms to charred remains. A faint white steam rose into the air, a testament to their annihilation.

One by one, the other mechanical warships met the same fate, their metal frames succumbing to the purifying blaze. Yet the Chitauri soldiers did not relent. Lasers and energy bombs were hurled at the Hell Carrier in retaliation.

But their efforts were in vain. The infernal energy surrounding the carrier detonated most projectiles before they could reach their target. Even when struck, the carrier's hellfire-infused structure repaired itself almost instantaneously, its supernatural resilience rendering it nearly indestructible.

The Hell Carrier's path became a trail of absolute devastation. Every Chitauri soldier and warship in its vicinity was obliterated. The tide of battle began to shift as the once-overwhelmed defenders of Earth saw hope reignited.

From a distance, Nick Fury observed the carnage wrought by the Hell Carrier. His usually stoic expression softened into a faint smile, a rare glimmer of relief.

In the meantime, Johnny piloted the Hell Carrier toward the ominous black hole swirling above Stark Tower. His fiery resolve burned brighter with each passing moment.

Elsewhere, the Avengers fought valiantly to reclaim the city. Iron Man, Hulk, Black Widow, and others pressed forward, cutting through the Chitauri forces as they converged on Stark Tower. Their combined strength and determination mirrored the hellish fury of Johnny Blaze, and together, they forged a path toward victory.
