A sudden boom echoed as he vanished.
Galisk's eyes barely had time to widen before Alister reappeared inches from him, his fist coated in crackling lightning. The punch struck like a giant hammer, the impact sending golden sparks flying as Galisk was forced back.
But Alister didn't stop.
With another burst of speed, he twisted, wind howling around him as he delivered a spinning kick. The sheer force tore through the wasteland, sending a shockwave that split the cracked ground even further.
Galisk blocked with a forearm coated in golden ether, but the force still sent him skidding backward through the air.
"You're getting faster," Galisk admitted with a grin. "But speed alone isn't enough!"
He flicked his wrist, and the golden chains shot forward, aiming to ensnare Alister.
Alister let out a pulse of wind exploding from beneath his feet.
He launched himself upward at an angle, narrowly avoiding the chains as they tore through the spot where he had just been standing.
