The Empress Dowager, though not as partial to the Fourth Prince as to the Fourteenth Master,
Would never match him with a girl of poor character.
At least, she had met the two young ladies from her own brother's home, and though one was quite pretty, she had rejected her as well.
At least this one, she thought to have a good disposition and was also good-looking.
"Emperor, you've been very busy these days. It's rare for me to have my niece over, so let's dine together today," the Empress Dowager said.
Fourth Prince's mind was clear as a mirror; he didn't find this Ninth Miss disagreeable, but as to whether he would acquiesce to the Empress Dowager's wishes, he had already made up his mind.
So, since the Empress Dowager had invited him, it was only right to dine together.
As for the Ninth Miss, the Fourth Prince had no need to avoid her. After all, he was the Emperor.
"Since the Imperial Mother has spoken, I will naturally have a meal today," Fourth Prince said with a smile.
