Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Jane, Mia...potential?

A teenage boy with black hair and black eyes lounged on a large chair, relaxed, admiring the view in front of him while sipping juice made from Sandra's fruit.

In the background, two girls ran at the same speed along a circular track. The pink-haired girl with pink eyes panted heavily, muttering curses under her breath toward her heartless master.

The red-haired girl, with violet eyes and otherworldly beauty, ran while casually wiping sweat from her face with her left hand. The gesture created a scene so seductive that even Kaal was momentarily stunned.

Damn! I knew Jane was my type, but this is ridiculous. My heart's pounding like a horse on Viagra every time I look at her. These must be the side effects of the Soul Curse Orb... but at least it's a nice view, Kaal thought to himself.

After Kaal broke through to the Foundation Realm and the {Origin Core} accepted him as its new owner, his Asura Eyes—which had once only revealed a person's bloodline, gained a new ability: the power to perceive a person's Fate Light. It helped him judge others' potential. The only drawback was that he couldn't see his own Fate Light.

That's when he discovered something shocking—both Jane and Mia had far more Fate Lights than any other clan members. Jane even had more than Samrat Kilvish, who had previously matched Kaal in cultivation talent before he fused with the Origin Core.

When tested by the clan, both girls had shown red-tier talent—the lowest, meaning they'd never reach the Foundation Realm. Even after six years at Kaal's side, both remained Rank 1 Warriors. That only confirmed one thing: their potential had nothing to do with talent, but with bloodline.

Thanks to his improved Asura Eyes, Kaal could now see that their bloodlines were pure and unawakened—something normally impossible to detect.

"I don't know any method to awaken unknown bloodlines… but one thing's certain: awakening requires a strong body," Kaal muttered softly. That's why he had ordered Jane and Mia to run—to strengthen their bodies.

Kaal had initially planned to infiltrate the Poison Soul Sect to eliminate his only weakness—the poison susceptibility caused by the [Myriad of Thousand Demon Body]. His goal was to cultivate the Soul Pearl Poison technique, but after discovering Jane and Mia's immense potential, he couldn't let it go to waste.

So he sent a letter to a Poison Soul Sect Elder—a spy planted by the Kilvish Clan to monitor the sect. It wasn't unusual; every major clan and sect had spies embedded in rival factions.

"I need a new identity—one that lets me enter the Poison Soul Sect with two maids. That's the only way I can bring them during the entrance exam in two months," Kaal said as he looked back at the two girls still running.

"The side effects of the Soul Curse Orb are getting worse," Kaal muttered with frustration. "My emotions are easily swayed, especially around women, thanks to Raven's lingering soul influence. I even dreamed of Divya last night…"

Should I kill Divya? He wondered. If she dies, maybe these feelings will disappear too. But her brother Raven just died—if she suddenly dies as well, it'll raise suspicion...

His thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a breathless, frustrated voice.

"Young m-master... did we do s-something wrong?" Mia asked, gasping for air. Behind her, Jane arrived, equally breathless, her face glistening with sweat like a glowing ember. Her rhythmic breathing was hypnotic, and when she tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, she looked like a painting come to life.

Kaal was stunned. A rare blush appeared on his face as his heart raced wildly.

"Young master? Did you hear me? Did we do something wrong? Why do we have to train like this?" Mia asked again, then pointed at her waist. "Look, young master, I'm losing weight from all this hard work!"

"Mia, you're the last person who should talk about losing weight. God knows what your body's made of—no matter how much you eat or train, your shape never changes," Jane replied with a touch of envy.

"It's called good genes!" Mia said proudly, striking a dancer's pose in an attempt to look elegant. But her bubbly personality and cheerful grin only made her seem cuter, like a mischievous child.

Kaal smiled at the scene. He'd grown up with them. They weren't just his maids—they were his childhood friends. When no one was around, Mia and Jane dropped the formalities and behaved like family. Mia was always cheerful and childlike, while Jane played the role of an older sister.

"No, Mia, this isn't punishment," Kaal said as he handed them both Sandra fruit juices.

"I'm going far away from the clan for a secret mission. There's a chance I won't come back alive if I'm caught. I was considering taking you two with me… but your current strength made me hesitate," Kaal said honestly.

Jane's hands trembled as she dropped her juice. Her eyes widened in fear—she knew Kaal never joked about death. If he was saying this, it meant the mission was deadly.

"Young master, I'm coming with you! You can't leave me behind!" Jane shouted, her voice trembling as she fought back tears.

"But this is an enemy territory mission. Are you sure you still want to come?" Kaal asked, concerned.

"You promised us… Wherever you go, the three of us go together. You have to keep your promise! Are you not Kaal Kilvish?" Jane said, clutching the edge of his robe, hiding her tear-streaked face.

"Yes! You promised!" Mia echoed, nodding fiercely.

Kaal looked at them both, unable to hide the warmth in his eyes.

"You two… What am I going to do with you two idiots?" he said, a rare, gentle smile forming on his face.
