"What do you want from me, Atty. Galvez?" I asked, trying to keep my voice firm, unaffected, though my heart was pounding against my ribs like it wanted out. "I've already made it clear—I don't want to be your business partner. You're a lawyer. I'm sure you understand what a clear rejection means."
I shouldn't have looked at him.
