Luke stood outside the door to Ilyrana's room, hesitating for just a moment before he knocked.
"It's me," he called softly, not wanting to startle her.
After a brief pause, he heard her voice from within, permitting him to enter.
He stepped inside, closing the door quietly behind him. The room was dimly lit by the morning light seeping through the window. Ilyrana, now feeling more at ease, had removed her cloak, revealing her elven features in full. Her silver hair cascaded down her back, and her pointed ears were no longer hidden. Despite the serene expression she always seemed to wear, Luke could see the faint tension in her posture, a reminder of the constant vigilance she maintained.
"We need to talk about our next move," Luke began, taking a seat on the edge of the bed. "Esbakan isn't too far from here, but with my leg still healing, it could take us much longer on foot. I was thinking… maybe we should try to hitch a ride with someone heading in that direction."
