As Luke and Ilyrana approached the grand doors of the cathedral, the familiar scent of aged wood and faint incense lingered in the air. Ilyrana stepped forward, pushing open the heavy doors with ease, allowing both of them to step inside.
The main hall was just as they had left it—calm, peaceful, and filled with the quiet chatter of children. The boys—Thomas, Peter, Samuel, Henry, Andrew, Benjamin, and little Daniel—were sprawled across the floor, engaged in some game they had devised. The girls—Lillian, Sarah, Clara, Hannah, Emily, and Natasha—sat in a small circle, whispering about whatever childish gossip they had in their heads.
But the peaceful atmosphere shattered when they noticed Luke standing at the entrance.
"Big Brother Luke!" Daniel was the first to shout, his tiny legs moving faster than they should as he rushed forward.
The others followed. Within seconds, a wave of children surged toward Luke, arms outstretched, eager to hug him at once.
