Just as Lina was about to ask Reynold amore about the contents of the ominous carriages, a messenger guard approached with haste and he quickly bowed before her.
"Lady Lina, you have been called to the front," he said, his voice sharp and direct.
Lina nodded, and gave a brief bow to Reynold. "E-excuse me, Senior. I will join the others at the front."
Reynold simply nodded back.
As Lina made her way to the front of the formation, her eyes scanned the scene before her. The Elder, along with the four elite protectors, stood in a quiet circle, their robes fluttering lightly in the wind.
Around them, several formation masters, each an expert in magical arts, were chanting in a low, rhythmic beat.
Then, with a mighty pulse of energy, the barrier in front of the army began to shift. Sections of the massive dome of magic lifted, each one parting to create a wide enough gap for the entire army to pass through.
