Chapter 289 - Chapter 289: Time's Up! The Official Start of the First Holy War!

Hypnos.

Nereus.

After delivering gifts from the Underworld and the Sea, they each chose to leave. They observed briefly and finally confirmed that the fourth God-King had truly been born.

This was an astonishing event—beyond imagination! It was unbelievable that the fourth God-King would be born at this time, in this moment.

However.

After verifying this, Hypnos and Nereus both returned to their respective realms.

In the Underworld!

Thanatos looked at Hypnos and asked, "Hypnos, are you sure? Is that really the fourth God-King?"

"Yes."

Hypnos nodded seriously, his expression extremely solemn as he said, "The fourth God-King—it's unimaginable that such a figure would be born at this time. And yet, it's strange. From any perspective, the timing doesn't seem right at all."

Hypnos found the situation peculiar.

The twin gods, being the favored children of the ancient gods Erebus and Nyx, knew many secrets. They were well aware that the first God-King was born in the era of the ancient gods, leading them into that age.

The second God-King was born at the end of the ancient gods' reign, guiding the gods into the Golden Age.

The third God-King was born in the Golden Age, ushering the gods into the Silver Age.

The fourth God-King was supposed to be born during the Silver Age, leading humanity into the final Bronze Age. But would the fourth God-King succeed in doing so? That remained uncertain.

The core issue was this: the timing was off. This was the biggest problem—something felt unnatural.

Exactly!

This was the primary issue. From any viewpoint, the fourth God-King shouldn't have been born during this Golden Age, which had not yet ended.

If, for instance, Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus, the three current God-Kings, had been delaying time for eons, not wanting to advance the ages and keeping the Golden Age eternal, then perhaps the mythical world would have intervened. But from any angle, it didn't make sense.

In conclusion!

At present, the birth of the fourth God-King was strange, unnatural, and utterly perplexing.

Thanatos shook his head and said, "Hypnos, don't think too much about it. This is not something for us to ponder. As long as it's confirmed that the fourth God-King has been born, that's all that matters."

Seeing Hypnos deep in thought, Thanatos seriously advised him.

Suddenly!

Hypnos' expression grew serious as he quickly realized the truth. He nodded gravely, understanding that getting involved in this was dangerous.

This wasn't a trivial matter.

Neither Hypnos nor Thanatos had the right to get deeply involved in this. If they did, what would be the outcome?

Obviously!

It wouldn't end well. Therefore, it was best to leave it at that.

Don't!

Don't!

Absolutely do not attempt to interfere or understand every detail of this event.

"I understand."

Hypnos wiped away a cold sweat and nodded solemnly. Then he said, "Time is almost up. The first Holy War is about to begin. From now on, things are going to get busy!"

"The victor of the first Holy War will undoubtedly belong to His Majesty and the Underworld!"

Thanatos, exuding confidence, shifted the topic, no longer discussing the fourth God-King. Naturally, his confidence was absolute.

No joke!

Could the Underworld lose this battle?

Impossible!

Absolutely impossible!

This was the confidence of the entire Underworld. They had an unwavering belief in their victory in the first Holy War—confidence that stemmed from the very core of their being.

However!

Hypnos shook his head and said, "Calm down. The first Holy War hasn't even begun yet. It's best not to be too arrogant. If anything goes wrong, it could end badly. Stay calm."

"You're right."

Hypnos' words brought Thanatos back to a more measured mindset.

Confidence and pride were fine.

But!

Arrogance?

That was unacceptable. Walking the path of arrogance could easily lead to a downfall, and that would be a major problem.

This Holy War was far too important for the Underworld.

If the Underworld could win this battle, then everything that followed would become much easier.

Hypnos and Thanatos exchanged a glance, and the twin gods began diligently attending to their tasks, considering and addressing many issues.

Not just them!

The other deities of the Underworld were also preparing.

Nereus was leading the sea gods in the Sea Realm, getting everything ready.

Prometheus, too, was busy in the heavens, managing numerous affairs.

Prometheus truly was overwhelmed—his mind was burdened with too many tasks, to the point where his head ached. But could he afford to slack off?

Obviously not. Prometheus knew very well that with everything happening in the heavens, he couldn't afford to show any sign of weakness. Instead, he had to be more focused than ever.

He fully understood this.

Prometheus knew that his plans and schemes might not succeed. There was no guarantee! But he had to try, he had to give it his all. Giving up wasn't an option.

Prometheus wasn't afraid of death, but he didn't want to die under Zeus' suspicion. That was something he desperately wanted to avoid.

If he died like that, Prometheus would only feel more enraged.

He wanted to see a glimmer of success.

He wanted to realize his ambitions.

This was his desire!

In the Underworld, the Sea Realm, and the heavens.

All three realms were meticulously preparing, and time—just a year for the gods—passed in the blink of an eye.

A short time!

And that year had already slipped by.

The first Holy War...

Had officially begun!!!
