"Ahhhhh!!," Mark screamed after the feeling like he just had a nightmare of doing something wrong.
"Damn, I am on my bed..... wasn't I just on the ro," Mark stop as a suddenly recall of his memory stop him.
******
"Well, now that I know what I have done.... I guess i am a scum," Mark said in a way to calm his confused mind.
A chill was felt sudden on his skin like been poured a cold water, calming all his previous anxieties.
'No, that is the wrong suggestion as could compel to report me," he thought but still decide to still apologize.
"But let take that away for a second just how many lifespan did I get," he said, before a screen appeared before him.
"Huh, I got a new skill," said Mark in surprise from the new display of the status windows.
"Being a scum to survive," Mark quick got to the kitchen and got himself a small food to eat.
The savory scent of garlic and herbs filled the small apartment as Mark stood in his modest kitchen, stirring a pan of sizzling vegetables. He moved with ease, the rhythm of the moment grounding him after a long day. A light bead of sweat formed at his temple as steam rose from the stovetop. The water was boiling beside him—just right for the spaghetti he planned to toss with his homemade sauce.
He hummed to himself, enjoying the simplicity of cooking. There was something calming about preparing his own food—chopping fresh bell peppers, crushing cloves of garlic, and adding just the right pinch of salt. The sauce thickened gradually, filling the room with warmth and the comfort of something he created from scratch.
As the timer buzzed, he drained the pasta, then tossed it into the pan with the sauce, letting everything blend together. He plated the meal neatly—just one plate, as always—and brought it to the small table near the window. The sun was nearly gone, casting a dim orange glow across the skyline. Mark ate slowly, savoring each bite, already thinking of what he'd do next.
Once the last bite was gone and the dishes were cleaned and stacked, Mark made his way to the bathroom. A hot bath was waiting—something he looked forward to every evening. He eased himself into the water, closing his eyes and letting the heat seep into his muscles. He could feel the stress of the day dissolve with every passing minute.
The bath didn't last long. Mark wasn't one to linger. After drying off, he changed into his comfortable gray sweats and a worn-out T-shirt, then padded barefoot to his room, flipping open his laptop as he settled into his chair.
The screen blinked to life, and soon he was navigating to his stock tracking app. Numbers scrolled, charts flickered, and a wave of data filled the screen. Mark's eyes moved quickly, scanning for patterns, potential, and most of all—opportunity. He didn't come from money, but he'd saved carefully over the last few years, and now he was looking to grow it.
He opened a notepad and began typing: "Areas to invest:"
He paused, fingers hovering over the keys, then started listing possibilities.
1. Green Energy
Solar, wind, electric vehicles—this sector had been gaining traction for years, and now it seemed more promising than ever. Governments were pushing for cleaner alternatives, and companies like Tesla and NextEra Energy were leading the charge. But the sector was volatile. Still, the long-term outlook made it hard to ignore.
2. Artificial Intelligence and Automation
AI was no longer just science fiction—it was in phones, businesses, even hospitals. Mark had been reading about companies specializing in machine learning algorithms, robotics, and automation software. With more industries adopting AI, this field was bound to explode. He bookmarked a few articles on Nvidia, OpenAI's investments, and smaller startups making waves in automation.
3. Cybersecurity
With everything going digital, security was a priority. He jotted down the names of companies like CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks. Cybercrime was increasing, and businesses were scrambling to protect their data. It felt like a smart, defensive play.
4. Healthcare and Biotech
Mark had always believed healthcare was a safe investment, but now he was more interested in biotech firms doing cutting-edge research. Cancer treatments, genetic engineering, and drug development all carried risk—but they also had the potential to skyrocket with the right breakthroughs.
5. Cloud Computing & SaaS
Every major company was shifting to the cloud. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud were booming. Software-as-a-Service companies were streamlining everything from accounting to customer service. He highlighted stocks like Salesforce and ServiceNow as possible additions to his watchlist.
He leaned back, fingers locked behind his head, staring at the screen with a thoughtful expression. He wasn't rushing. Mark had learned from the past that emotion was the enemy of investing. Instead, he would research more—track the trends, read earnings reports, and study the global economy.
But he also knew something important: now was the time to move. The market never waited for anyone.
He reached for a mug of warm tea, sipping slowly as his eyes wandered across the screen again. Each graph, each line of news, was a puzzle piece waiting to be understood. He wasn't rich—not yet—but he had something better: discipline, time, and the quiet belief that smart choices could build something lasting.
The city outside was silent now, lights flickering in tall buildings. Mark smiled faintly, his fingers already typing out a new list—this one labeled "Companies to research tomorrow."
And just like that, the night deepened, and Mark continued his quiet pursuit of a better future, one idea at a time.
