Chapter 133- Arrival (3)

(JEMAS POV)

As the wagon that carried Cena and Lexi's unconscious bodies arrived in front of a building that was secluded deep inside of the forest. I watched from above, keeping my presence hidden. It's been at least 12 hours since I began to follow the wagon that Marquess Francis provided for us. Although he seems to be following Prince Morgan's order, I doubt he's truly trustworthy.

"Take the girls inside, make sure they won't be able to escape. His lordship will be arriving soon to take them to the slave quarters" I heard one of the guards say. There were two guards on horses—- the ones who were pulling the wagon, while two guards followed behind them.

His lordship? I questioned, wondering if they were talking about Count Livens or someone else.

I watched as one of the guards opened the covering of the wagon, "What the hell" I mumbled, as I gripped the tree. "Who is that?" I noticed a person lying beside Cena. The plan was only for Cena and Lexi to be transported, I clenched my fist. "Why is there a third person?"

Just then, as the two guards carried Cena and Lexi into the building. One of the guards that was left behind picked up the person and followed them into the building.

I watched as the remaining guard walked away from the wagon, lifting his right hand upwards as if he was making a signal.

Dropping down from the tree, just as we both made eye contact. "Simmons" I said, grabbing ahold of his uniform.

"Jemas" he said as he looked at me.

"Why is there another person? What the fuck is going on?" I asked.

Simmons grabbed my hand, moved it away from his uniform. "That person" Simmons paused, turning his head towards the secluded building.

"Jemas, that person" Simmons spoke, his voice laced with uncertainty, and a hint of disbelief. "That person is Vanessa"

My eyes widened, I quickly turned my head towards the building. Anger began to seethe within. Vanessa, the one who betrayed my brother, Yeshiva's ex fiance.

Suddenly. Simmons and I turned our heads in the opposite direction, hearing the sound of horses in the distance. Without a second thought, I climbed the tree, overlooking the building once again as Simmons rushed back. A second later, the door opened and the guards exited the building. Simmons stood next to the wagon, the loud chatter from the guards filled the air as the horses became apparent in the area.

"Knights?" I questioned, noticing their attire, it was six of them, one in particular caught my attention, his uniform was a different color from the others. "A captain, maybe?"

"My Lord, you've arrived" one of the guards rushed over towards the man who rode in front. His appearance became clearer as his horse walked near the tree I was hiding in.

"Something about him seems familiar" I mumbled inwardly, noticing his unusual hair color "Who does he remind me of?" Something about him was odd.

"I've come in my father's place, he was summoned to the palace. Let's get this over with" The man spoke, his voice wasn't deep but carried authority.

Maroon hair, I mumbled as I watched them enter the building. "Wait, Maroon hair" Why does it remind me of Nathan.

(NASHI'S POV)

"Greetings, Duke Synovial, Young Duke Synovial The guards bowed as my father and I walked past them. We approached the audience room, after receiving a summon from a royal knight that visited our manor. My father and I arrived at the palace, wondering why His Majesty summoned us this early. I glanced down at my watch, noticing it was only 9:30am.

When we entered the audience room, the one sitting on the throne wasn't King Lincoln but Prince Marshall. I glanced at my father, seeing the frown forming on his face.

"Your Highness, what is the meaning for this summon?" My father said, as we approached the stairs leading up to the throne.

Prince Marshall stood up, slowly pacing back and forth with both his arms behind his back.

"Duke Vernon, as the next King of this Kingdom, You should watch that tone of yours and fix that expression on your face" Prince Marshall said, his expression filled with amusement.

I glanced at my father as he slightly gritted his teeth. My father bowed his head, "My apologies, Your Highness"

Prince Marshall began to snicker, "That apology seems insincere. But as the head of the neutral party, the Synovial Dukedom has no choice but to follow my orders once I become King"

I clenched my fist, Prince Marshall is a persistent bastard.

"Young Duke" Prince Marshall turned his gaze towards me, his expression was unreadable for a moment until a wicked grin suddenly made me alert. "Princess Sage," he said. I gulped inwardly, still keeping my eyes locked on him.

The silence was killing me. Prince Marshall chuckled, "Relax, Duke Nashi, there's no way you would know her personally, right?" He said, his eyes locked on me. Suddenly, he snapped his fingers and waved his hand, "Enough, both of you are dismissed" he said.

My father and I bowed our heads before turning away, I exhaled slowly out of relief. Just as we were approaching the door, "Ah, right" Prince Marshall's voice traveled through the audience room. My father and I turned our heads towards him once again.

"Lord Sylvester,he hasn't been attending any of the noble events recently. I hope to see him at the banquet" Prince Marshall began to chuckle again.

Shit, is he still targeting Sylvester. I balled my fist, the sound of him snickering made my blood boil.

Just as the door to the audience room opened for our exit, my eyes widened as the one who stood before us was him, the general of the aristocratic faction side of the royal army.

"Duke Vernon, Young Duke Nashi" he spoke, his tone was rude as usual, his grayish, maroon hair stood out the most.

"Count Brazen" my father greeted him.
