Veyron paused briefly when he saw Efan. He hadn't expected the young man introduced as "brother" to only be at the grandmaster level. However, he quickly composed himself and offered a small smile. "Greetings, Young Friend Efan," he said with a polite nod.
Efan returned the greeting, slightly nervous but still respectful. They then sat down together, forming a half-circle around the table, which still carried the lingering scent of fresh fruit and floral petals from the sorbet earlier.
