Chapter 170 Spell Book
Afterward, Aleshia returned to the room filled with sick and cursed individuals, eager to use the knowledge from the spell book. As she contemplated which magic to cast, she suddenly realized she didn't have the book on her. She felt a moment of panic, but then she recalled her time in the soul space, where the book had appeared after she activated the magic circle sourced from her marks.
Aleshia reached into her robes and retrieved the chalk she had expected to find, drawing from her time in the soul space. With chalk in hand, she drew the symbols she remembered. After several trials and errors, particularly with the last symbol, she successfully recreated the magic circle. Aleshia reviewed it countless times, continuously correcting each symbol to ensure they matched her memory.
Lucia watched with curiosity as she watched Aleshia continually redraw the same magic circle. Noticing Aleshia was now channeling her mana into the circle, Lucia felt it was safe to ask without interrupting her concentration. "Aleshia, what is this magic circle for? I don't think I've seen one quite like it before," she asked.
Aleshia continued to pour her mana into the circle while she answered, "I'm trying to recreate a magic circle that Kailey and I tested in the soul space. If I can get this right, I can summon the spell book from there."
Lucia considered Aleshia's words before responding, "Since it's supposedly from your soul space, can't you just will it into being?"
"We can't do that; otherwise, we wouldn't have needed the circle." After pausing to consider Lucia's suggestion, Aleshia admitted, "I hadn't thought of it that way." Aleshia was about to stop the flow of her mana to explore that idea, but the circle suddenly activated before she could test Lucia's theory.
Once the circle activated, a brilliant light erupted from within. Some children in the other room noticed the intense glow from the door and curiously got up to investigate. However, Daniel stopped them, warning them not to approach the source of the light. After calming the children, he proceeded to the room that emitted the strange light.
As the light from the magic circle dimmed, Daniel entered the room, feeling agitation and unease. "What is happening here?" he asked, seeking answers.
Aleshia turned her head at Dahdin's voice and hesitantly replied, blending truth with deception. "I'm preparing the spell to cure your siblings, so there's no need to worry about the light." She bowed respectfully, keeping her gaze on the ground, hoping he would understand.
After a moment of silence, Dahdin spoke. "It's fine. Raise your head; we aren't nobles." He pronounced the last word as if it left a bad taste in his mouth.
