He had essentially come to believe Ruby's words by now. It wasn't because of Ruby's demeanor but rather after careful deliberation, he realized that this was indeed a mutually beneficial arrangement—he could evade pursuit while restoring his strength, whereas for the Awake World, it was nothing more than the replacement of one Abyssal Lord in the depths.
His current uniqueness largely stemmed from his "Path of Perfection," inherent to the God Kingdom, which allowed him, much like a Martial Saint, to move freely in the Awake World. However, if he entered the Abyss, slew a Demon Lord, and seized their domain, it would undoubtedly make him stronger, but it would also mean binding himself to the Abyss, making it far harder to descend to the Awake World again.
For the Awake World, this basically meant one less enemy.
