The Shadow Gate still existed, between the Mountain Woman and the fissures on the gate itself, there was a connection that seemed both present and absent, linking them together.
Her body was filled out, almost indistinguishable from a normal person, and the sight that appeared before Roger was no longer that hideous form.
Stretching her limbs to her heart's content, Mountain Woman seemed to be enjoying the long-missed freedom, her figure suspended in midair as her gaze fell on Uma.
"It seems between him and me, you still chose the latter," she said.
From the expression on Roger's face, it wasn't hard for Mountain Woman to guess what had happened.
"To forsake true freedom for a man, I really don't know how to judge your choice," she remarked.
"I long for freedom," Uma shook her head.
"I just don't trust you," she added.
"Last time, I trusted you wholeheartedly, but as a result, I became a tumor on your body," Uma continued.
"Where do you plan to put me this time?"
