Hunter could sense the urgency in Delilah's voice, and he immediately became wary. "Why do you need the address, Lila?" he asked, his tone cautious, though he tried to keep it light.
"To bring you clothes and undies, of course. You can't possibly be planning to stay the night there without anything to change into," Delilah replied smoothly, as though it was the most logical thing in the world.
Hunter chuckled, though he was still on guard. "Don't worry about that. My boss has already promised to give me something to wear. So, it's not necessary."
Delilah's voice took on a note of firmness. "You need to wear your own clothes, Blake. Don't give him more reasons to talk down on you. I'm bringing your clothes, and that's final."
He hesitated, sensing that there was more to her insistence than she was letting on. "Are you sure you're doing this because you want to help me out, or is it just an excuse to find out where he lives? Or… maybe it's because you miss me and want to see me?"
