"I told you it was a bad idea," the chief of police told Hunter as he stood by the door of the makeshift office where Hunter had mounted several telephones for them to receive calls regarding Delilah's whereabouts.
All the phones seemed to be ringing continuously yet none of the leads made any sense.
"And I told you I don't care," Hunter growled.
His eyes were bloodshot and his face was looked rough with stubbles. It was obvious that he was sleep deprived.
It had been three days since Delilah went missing and he was going out of his mind with worry.
"Anything from the exes she mentioned in the article?" Hunter asked and the chief shook his head.
"My men met with three. Their alibis checked out but they are cooperative and willing to do whatever they can to assist us in finding Ms Sterling. We are still trying to get hold of the fourth," the chief responded.
"Does that include Conner Blackwood?" Hunter asked, unable to keep his dislike for Conner out of his voice.
