Once again, the rotter-bear's attack was a miss with Lucas having dodged it just half a second before it struck his position.
Relying on his hardened battle experience and judgement, Lucas was able to predict the angles and direction the rotter-bear would attack from. He had already clashed with fourth level Apertures Opening stage entities before, so Lucas had a rough idea of their capabilities and could make the accurate decision of when and how to dodge. The vestige boots also helped to ensure that his movements could keep up, so Lucas wasn't in a tough situation; at least not yet.
This was because the technique Lucas used could only work when there was enough space between him and the rotter-bear. At close range, it would be a lot harder to react to its attacks.
