As expected, I was able to find a cleverly concealed door blending into the floor at the site where Belphegor and I had previously fought. The door's structure was similar to the one leading underground when I discovered the ancient alchemist's dungeon in the castle lobby. It wasn't that I had failed to notice it before—I simply hadn't activated my Third Eye at the time. After all, in this world, there's virtually nothing that can deceive the Third Eye.
Opening the door that led underground, I found a staircase descending below. Before entering, I carefully scanned the underground area. After confirming there were no signs of danger, I immediately leaped down.
"Light."
Jung Ha-Yeong, who had followed me in, promptly cast the Light spell. As the round orb of light floated up and illuminated the pitch-black interior, the hidden chamber beneath us finally revealed itself.
"Whoa..."
An-Hyun let out a gasp of amazement. The secret room felt noticeably smaller than the ones on the first floor. Wooden crates and barrels, still intact, were neatly stacked against one of the walls. Aside from that, there was an old bed, a chest of drawers, a table, and scattered dishes on top of it. Nothing suggested that this place had any special purpose.
I approached the bed and lifted the sheets. Underneath, I found old, brittle bones lying undisturbed. Staring at the remains in silence for a moment, I gently covered them again. Then, turning away, I looked at my companions, who were standing still, and finally spoke.
"This is the last room. We don't know what might be here, so make sure to search every inch of it thoroughly."
As soon as I gave the order, the others immediately scattered, eager to explore. It seemed like the excitement of finally reaching the last room and the anticipation of uncovering something valuable had everyone on edge. Watching Shin Sang-Yong, Jung Ha-Yeong, and Vivienne move carefully through the space, I activated both my sensory abilities and my Third Eye once more.
"...."
It didn't take long. I crouched down and reached under the bed. Sweeping my hand in a wide arc, I felt several objects brushing against my arm. So much for hiding in plain sight. Excited by the quick discovery, I pulled everything out in one swift motion.
As I examined the items that had been caught in my grasp, I couldn't help but cheer inwardly. The things I had once only half-believed in were now materializing before me. My body trembled slightly with excitement. Of course, I hadn't confirmed their identities yet, but I was almost certain these were exactly what I had expected.
There were four items in total.
A black spear, slightly thicker and longer than a standard one.
A sleek, rectangular wooden box that fits comfortably in one hand, exuding an air of luxury.
An old, fragile-looking book that seemed like it would crumble with just a touch.
A single glove.
My gaze lingered on the glove for a moment. It was a leather glove with a deep blue-black hue, its simple design accentuated by a shimmering chain embroidered across the surface, reflecting the light like moonlight. The fact that it was just one glove instead of a pair was a bit of an issue, but I didn't mind too much.
Still, just in case, I lay flat on the ground and reached even deeper under the bed, searching thoroughly.
But the other glove was nowhere to be found.
"Ugh, just break everything! We're done once we get out anyway!"
"Sounds good to me."
Behind me, I could hear An-Hyun and Yun-Jung smashing open the crates. They were probably getting frustrated because things weren't going as expected, so they decided to take it out on the boxes.
Meanwhile, I maintained my Third Eye, my excitement growing. Dust-covered artifacts lay before me, untouched for who knows how long. If my predictions were correct, these items likely belonged to a Qi Spearmaster from the past.
As I focused on them with my Third Eye, information about each item began appearing in my mind one by one.
『Spear of Raven』
A black spear forged from an alloy of steel (85.6%), mithril (12.7%), and adamantium (1.6%). Crafted by a skilled ancient blacksmith, this spear boasts exceptional performance. While steel is the primary material, mithril has been infused throughout the spear, greatly enhancing its mana efficiency. Additionally, a concentrated core of adamantium has been embedded within, significantly increasing its durability. Although it lacks magical enhancements, the focus on sharpness and sturdiness makes it a highly practical weapon. More importantly, the spear contains the dormant power to inherit the legacy of the Qi Spearmaster. If the records of its previous wielder can be found, the player may unlock even greater strength.
『Elixir』
A rare elixir composed of various precious ingredients. If consumed by a player with a Vitality stat of 70 or lower, it has a chance to permanently increase Vitality by 1 to 2 points.
『Ancient Spearmaster's Records』
A record left behind by a famous spearmaster of ancient times. It contains insights, techniques, and knowledge gained through years of training. If the Raven spear used by the spearmaster is also discovered, the wielder can gain an even greater power.
『Glove of Reduction』
A glove with only one remaining piece due to unknown circumstances. The remaining glove is for the left hand and grants the ability to reduce the weight of any object held by 1/5. If the missing right-hand glove is found and the pair is completed, the weight reduction effect will improve to 1/6, and the wearer's Strength stat will increase by 2 points.
"Haah..."
"Finally found a pouch! Oppa, oppa! I—wait, what are you doing?"
Yun-Jung's voice called out from behind, but I had no time to respond. As the saying goes, reward comes after hardship... Though, to be fair, there hadn't been much hardship.
The Qi Spearmaster, just like the Chimera Alchemist, had been buried near the small town of Mule.
This wasn't something I could take lightly. Suddenly, I recalled the moment Vivienne had handed me that book. Just like back then, a wave of excitement and exhilaration surged in my chest. Unable to contain it, I clenched my fist tightly. Even if I tried to suppress it, I could feel a smile creeping onto my lips as I stood up.
"Oppa? Oppa~? What's wrong with you, huh?"
Yun-Jung whined beside me, and without hesitation, I reached out and pulled her close. She seemed startled at first, but soon, she snugly nestled against me, playfully clinging. Resting her head against my shoulder, she glanced at the items spread out before us and widened her eyes in shock.
"Looks like we hit the jackpot. Hahaha."
"This is a spear? Damn. That lucky bastard An-Hyun hit the lottery."
I tried to push Yun-Jung's head away, but she stubbornly pressed against me again, making it clear she had no intention of moving.
"Hey. Get your head off me already."
"Ugh, come on. You were fine hugging me just a second ago. Let's just stay like this for a little longer. I totally get why Sol always tries to cling to you now. It actually feels pretty nice."
At that, I let out a deep sigh and withdrew my hand.
Honestly, choosing Third Eye as my unique ability had been the best decision I could have made. The dungeons I had desperately searched for in my first life, the thrill of exploration, and these rare classes—they were now practically falling into my lap.
Of course, I knew that a lot of this was due to luck. But still, the fact that I had discovered two rare classes in a row was what truly mattered. The things I had only dared to hope for were becoming reality. And now, An-Hyun—one of my most loyal allies—was about to obtain a rare class. That was a huge deal.
Calming my racing heart, I slowly reached out toward the black spear. Brushing away the thick layer of dust, I wrapped my fingers around the cold, jet-black metal.
At that moment, a surge of overwhelming power flowed into my body. But this time, it wasn't my Third Eye revealing the truth. Instead, Hall Plain's system messages materialized in midair.
『Congratulations. You have discovered a Rare Class.』
『By wielding the Spear of Raven and accepting its power, you can evolve into an Energy Spearman.』
『The Energy Spearman is considered an advanced class among spearmen. They possess unique martial and spear techniques, allowing them to utilize their internal energy more efficiently to maximize their combat effectiveness. The methods to train in these techniques are recorded in the legacy left by the previous inheritor. This class is highly recommended for melee fighters, particularly those proficient in spears.』
『Currently, Kim Su-Hyeon's class is the highest-tier Secret Class of the swordsman lineage: Sword Specialist. While you may acquire the record book, an evaluation of your unique, special, and latent abilities indicates that overall efficiency will drop below 40%. However, due to your Strength stat of 94 points and Agility stat of 98 points, 20% of the lost efficiency can be recovered. Additionally, your special ability, EX-Rank Sword's Heart, allows you to recover another 20%. Regardless of the weapon used, Kim Su-Hyeon can fully utilize its power. However, wielding a spear will inevitably be less effective than a sword. Furthermore, as all your special and latent abilities have already fully bloomed, acquiring the powers of the Energy Spearman is not recommended.』
Since the room wasn't large and all seven of us were searching at once, the exploration didn't take long. Soon, reports from the others came trickling in.
"Hyung, I got nothing."
"Oppa, I found a pouch… Huh?!"
An-Hyun waved his hand in frustration, letting out a deep sigh. An-Sol, who had been proudly shaking a pendant in my direction, suddenly inhaled sharply when she noticed Yun-Jung clinging to me.
I immediately shoved Yun-Jung's head away.
"Ugh. I didn't find anything either."
"I-I… am in the same boat as Master."
Vivienne and Shin Sang-Yong showed me their empty hands, looking disappointed. Meanwhile, Jung Ha-Yeong, who had been in charge of searching the drawers, held out a long, shimmering string.
"I found a necklace. I think it has some kind of magical energy."
Jung Ha-Yeong and An-Sol quietly handed over the items they had found. I took both and dropped them onto the pile with the other artifacts I had discovered. As soon as the others (except for Yun-Jung) laid eyes on the relics of the ancient Energy Spearman, their eyes widened in shock.
"It looks like we need to divide everything up properly… but first, let's take care of the urgent matter."
"Urgent matter? Ugh, I just want to go back to the city already…."
I gave Vivienne a pointed look, and she immediately changed her tone.
"Wow! I'm so curious about what these items are. Super curious! Can't wait to find out~!"
I sighed before turning my attention to An-Hyun.
"An-Hyun, come here."
"Yes."
An-Hyun obediently stepped up beside me as I instructed. I bent down, grasped the Spear of Raven, and slowly lifted it.
The moment An-Hyun laid eyes on the spear, he grinned, probably assuming I was about to hand it over to him. What he didn't realize was that his smile was about to turn into pure shock.
"Hyun, listen to me carefully from now on."
"Heh, just give the order. I'll do whatever you say."
Seeing his eyes sparkle with excitement, I let out a wry chuckle before continuing in a calm voice.
"When you grab this spear, a bunch of Hall Plain system messages will appear in the air. Read through them all, then accept them in your mind. Most importantly—do not drop the spear halfway through. Got it?"
"Huh? I don't really get it… But I just have to do as you say, right? What's so special about this thing?"
"Sigh. Just remember what I told you and follow the instructions from the messages. You'll understand soon enough."
"Heh, now you're making me excited. Alright, give it to me already, Hyung!"
I smirked.
"Here you go, you brat."
I handed the spear over to An-Hyun.
The moment his hands wrapped around it, his entire body stiffened. Seeing his reaction, I couldn't help but let out a faint smile.
For me, absorbing the spear's power had been effortless—I had an overwhelming amount of mana and multiple divine blessings protecting me. But An-Hyun? His mana capacity was much lower, and he lacked such protections. Naturally, he was going to struggle.
"U-Uh… Uh…."
His pupils locked onto empty space, his expression slowly shifting from excitement to shock and confusion. A small commotion broke out among the group, murmurs spreading as they watched An-Hyun's odd reaction.
I raised a hand, signaling for silence.
"Everyone, quiet. The succession process isn't easy. The calmer it is, the better. Just watch and wait."
"Succession… process?"
Yun-Jung, standing beside me, muttered in a puzzled tone.
I nodded once before explaining.
"Yeah. That spear allows the player to inherit the Rare Class: Energy Spearman. Right now, An-Hyun is undergoing the succession ritual—the process of evolving into a rare class."
