Rain cursed under her breath as she watched the live news broadcast. Carla was all over the headlines. William had already called them about it and made sure Carla wouldn't be taken to Tim's hospital. Instead, she was now at Meta Doctors Hospital, surrounded by tight security.
Suddenly, the television shut off. It was Alexander who had turned it off.
"You shouldn't watch the news. I don't want you thinking about Carla at all. It won't be good for our baby," Alexander said as he joined her on the bed, pulling her closer.
They were staying in a hotel within walking distance of her mother's hospital. Rain wanted to stay and help relieve her father, who was still sleep-deprived from taking care of her mother.
They had been taking turns watching over her, and tomorrow it was her turn. Alexander refused to leave her alone, insisting on staying with her instead of returning with her father-in-law and Aunt Vernice the day before.
