Chapter 1 - The Hestia Familia

Inside the cramped and modest home of the Hestia Familia, Bell Cranel was just finishing up his training for the day. Sweat beaded on his forehead as he wiped his brow with the back of his hand, panting from the effort. His training was rough, but it was the only way he could keep up with the dangerous world outside the walls of Orario.

"Just a little more…" he muttered to himself, his breath ragged. Determination burned in his bright eyes, though exhaustion tugged at him. He had to keep going—for his dream, for his Familia.

The door to the Hestia Familia's home creaked open, causing Bell to glance up in surprise. He froze when he saw a shadow fall over him.

The figure standing in the doorway was imposing. Towering at an incredible 9 feet 4 inches, the man's presence dominated the room the moment he stepped inside. His long, flowing white hair cascaded down his back, strands swaying slightly as he moved. His crimson red eyes gleamed with sharp amusement, and despite his sheer size and powerful build, there was an undeniable warmth hidden beneath the intimidating aura he carried.

For a moment, Bell thought he was seeing a ghost.

"Yo, Bell."

The deep, rumbling voice sent a shiver down Bell's spine, and recognition slammed into him.

"Y-Yami?!" Bell's voice cracked as he stumbled back in shock. "What are you doing here?! I—how—what—?!"

Yami chuckled, stepping further into the room. The wooden floor groaned under his immense weight, though he carried himself with effortless confidence. "Did you think I'd just let you run around Orario without any supervision? What kind of big brother would I be?" He smirked, his long hair shifting slightly as he leaned against the wall, arms crossed.

Bell's mind reeled. His older brother, the sibling he barely remembered, was here. Alive. Real. And absolutely massive.

"But… how did you find me?" Bell asked, still wide-eyed.

Yami shrugged. "I had a hunch." He then grinned. "Also, you're not exactly subtle, Bell. You've been making waves lately."

Bell swallowed, feeling a mix of confusion, excitement, and nerves. He never thought he'd meet Yami—let alone have him show up unannounced.

"Bell," a new voice cut in, "who's this?"

Turning toward the doorway leading to the kitchen, both brothers saw Hestia standing there. She blinked a few times, looking up, and up, and up at Yami, her eyes widening as she processed the sheer size of the man before her.

Yami turned his gaze toward her, his red eyes softening slightly. "Ah, you must be Hestia." He bowed his head slightly. "Bell's told me about you. Thanks for looking after him."

Hestia, despite her usual confidence, seemed momentarily thrown off by how much she had to tilt her head back just to meet his eyes. "…And you are?"

Yami grinned, placing a hand on Bell's head and ruffling his hair. "Yami Cranel. Bell's older brother."

Bell squawked in protest, swatting Yami's hand away, but Hestia's eyes narrowed slightly. "Older brother?"

Bell straightened. "Y-yeah! I never really got to know him before, but… he's my big brother."

Hestia's expression turned thoughtful. She studied Yami, eyes flicking over his features—his white hair, his red eyes, his height, his confident smirk that mirrored Bell's nervous one.

"…You two do look alike," she admitted. "Except you're way too big."

Yami let out a laugh. "Yeah, I get that a lot."

Hestia crossed her arms. "So? What's your deal? You just waltz into Orario after all this time and decide to check on Bell?"

Yami grinned but didn't deny it. "Pretty much. I wanted to see how the little guy was doing." He ruffled Bell's hair again.

Bell grumbled. "Stop that!"

Hestia sighed, rubbing her temples. "Great. Another problem child."

"Hey now," Yami said with a smirk. "I'm a fun problem."

Hestia wasn't convinced. But after a moment, she sighed again and waved a hand. "Fine. You're Bell's family, so I'll let you stay." Then she added, "But only if you pull your weight. I don't need another mouth to feed if you're not doing anything."

Yami chuckled. "Don't worry, I'll be earning my keep. Got a feeling I'll be making a name for myself real soon."

Bell looked between Hestia and Yami, still trying to absorb everything. His big brother was here. Staying with them. And somehow, the tiny home of the Hestia Familia had never felt smaller.

One thing was certain—life in Orario had just gotten a whole lot more interesting.
