Third person POV
But then, the fight with the monster in Legazpi City was getting harder and harder, and Roxas and the players who fought with him were now struggling a lot. That monster was way too strong to be defeated and had high stats. And then, when all hope was about to be lost and slip from their hands, Kaota came to the rescue and struck the monster with sheer strength and skill. Roxas and the other players were astonished to see that, and Roxas was happy that Kaota came to help. "Kaota-senpai!"
Kaota landed back on the ground and looked at Roxas and the other players. "Hi there, Roxas…."
Anko was surprised and happy to see Kaota from Roxas' subconscious and came out of it. "Kai-senpai!"
Of course, he was invisible to everyone around him.
"Well, let's finish that monster now!" Kaota said to Roxas and the others.
Roxas and the other players agreed, and they all fought the monster together with Kaota.
Anko controls most of Roxas' movements, and Roxas synchronized as usual.
And so, in just 1 hour, the monster has been defeated, and Akihito was upset and unhappy about it. Also, because of that, Roxas and the other players, including Kaota, gained some XP, and two of the players also leveled up as well. Roxas and Kaota then shared a high-five, and Anko, who was back in Roxas' subconscious and body, was happy for that.
Shortly after, the scene was filled with emergency vehicles and reporters from various news agencies. Roxas, Kaota, and the other players were being interviewed by some of the reporters. Roxas and Kaota answered accordingly while Roxas was keeping Anko's existence and role as his spirit guardian secret. Roxas' group heard what had happened and came to the scene shortly after. Roxas then explained to them what had happened, and Kaota elaborated on it. Roxas's group was relieved to see that Roxas was fine and unharmed.
Eventually, while eating a nice lunch meal at a restaurant with Roxas, Kaota received a notification of a spam email on his phone. Kaota checked it out, and it was from someone named Elisa Cruz. That email said:
"Dear stranger,
Please, I need your help. I'll be dead soon. Help me defeat this game known as Sword Art Online. Help!"
Urgently,
Elisa Cruz."
After reading the whole thing, Kaota was stunned, and Roxas noticed his expression had changed. "What's wrong, Kaota-senpai?"
Kaota then looked at him. "I received a random email from a stranger."
"What?"
Kaota then showed the email to Roxas.
Roxas looks at it and is stunned. "Woah, what? A dead player of this game?"
Kaota puts down the phone and says back, "What? A dead player?"
Roxas then decided to tell him about this dead player and contract thing and said back at Kaota with a sincere and brief tone, "Actually, Kaota-senpai, if you don't know this, there is one secret that I haven't revealed to you yet, but let's finish our meal first."
And so, after finishing their meal and paying for it, Roxas and Kaota grabbed their belongings and left the place, going to a secluded alleyway in the area. There, Roxas explained to Kaota about the contract with dead players and how to do that. Kaota was shocked. "Wait, for real?"
Roxas then nodded. "Yes, and I was the first one to have a spirit guardian within me."
"No way that's for real, dude!"
Anko heard that and came out of Roxas' body and appeared before Kaota. "Hi there!"
Kaota was shocked and taken aback greatly. "Woah! How did you appear out of nowhere?"
"See?" Roxas responded back. "This is what I am talking about. This is Anko Tachibana, my spirit guardian."
Then to Anko. "Anko-kapatid, this is Kaota of Singapore and Japan."
"Hi there, nice to meet you," Anko said to Kaota happily.
Because of that, Kaota might have discovered the benefits of a spirit guardian of his own.
And so, he decides to join Roxas' bandwagon of contracted players with dead ones, and writes a response email to Elisa's:
"Dear Elisa,
I am Kaota from Singapore and Japan, and I have hereby accepted your request for help. I'll do my best to help you so you can rest in peace.
Your respondent,
Kaota Kai."
After writing that partially formal response, Kaota sent it to Elisa, hoping for a response from her.
But instead of a response email from Elisa, a flash of light flashed before his eyes.
"Ah! My eyes!" Kaota yelled a bit before that flash of light ended.
"Yup!" Roxas said positively and brightly. "That's a seal for the contract."
Kaota now became Elisa's new vessel.
