Lin Yao awoke to find herself in an empty house, not knowing when or how she had been brought there. She steadied herself and rose to her feet.
"Someone!! Let me out!!!"
Lin Yao pounded on the walls as she yelled loudly, clueless as to how she had ended up here. The last fragment of memory in her mind was rushing at Lin Yue with a knife but being pushed aside, then Lin Jinfang knocked her out.
The regret of failing to kill her washed over Lin Yao; she was so close. A flash of resentment flickered in her eyes—why had someone intervened?
"Do you know who I am!!"
Lin Yao screamed until her throat was raw, but there was no response.
She collapsed on the ground, thoroughly exhausted from shouting. Despite her cries and jumping around, no one had responded.
A sudden fear wrapped around Lin Yao's heart… She instinctively curled up in a corner, huddling into a ball.
