"Here, this treat's on me," Xia Ying chuckled as she stopped and pulled out a big bag of preserved plums from her bag. She tore open the package with flair and handed them out to the employees.
When the boss said she was going to treat them, everyone was happy. But, when they saw that what she was treating them to was preserved plums, they all ungraciously dismissed her offer, and not a single person ate her preserved plums.
"Don't they taste good? Not giving any face, are you?" Xia Ying asked with a laugh, retracting her extended hand. She picked out a preserved plum, tossed it into her mouth, and enjoyed the mix of sour and sweet - an indescribably delicious flavor she had come to love.
"These pickled preserved plums are kind of sour; I don't like sour things."
"I don't like them either."
"Boss, why did you buy so many preserved plums? Be careful, eat too many and your teeth will go soft even sipping soup."
Seeing Xia Ying looking content, everyone teased her.
