"Ever the hero, huh?"
A young man with short dreadlocks said with a smirk. He let his words linger in the air as he surveyed the scene before him.
Conrad's gaze narrowed toward the duo that had given them a lot of trouble in the test. Thrash was approaching casually, his headphones slung around his neck, while the aloof Yohan loomed just behind him.
Their appearance didn't look any different from how they left them. This whole test had been a walk in the park for them.
By the looks of it, Connie's group had been their biggest challenge. The idea that they had forced Thrash and Yohan to break a sweat, even for a moment, was gratifying in its own way.
That brought a smile to his heart.
"These two?"
Connie muttered, looking down at Krista's unconscious body in his arms. He held her carefully, like the way a knight might cradle a princess after saving her. That was when the weight of Thrash's earlier comment clicked in his mind, and his expression darkened.
