The Void Training Field warped around him, reality itself bending as the world shifted. Cruzer barely had time to register the sensation before everything became nothing.
The ground beneath his feet disappeared. The air around him lost its weight. Sound—any sound—ceased to exist.
For a moment, he panicked.
His instincts screamed that he was falling, yet there was no motion. His heart pounded in his chest, but even that sound was swallowed by the void. He reached out, but his hands felt… distant, like they weren't entirely his anymore. His breathing—gone. His presence—gone.
He tried speaking. No words came.
Then, Nina's voice cut through the silence—sharp, clear, impossible.
"The Void is not a place. It is a state of being."
Cruzer turned—or at least, he thought he did. There was no horizon, no up, no down. Only blackness.
"The mistake you make, Cruzer, is that you still think of yourself as part of the world. Here, you are nothing. Here, you must learn to become the void."
