He looked down at the [Witch] Hila, who was gazing up at him.
Eyes met; there was no such thing as a heart pounding wildly, at least Lind didn't feel it. Deities don't have a concept of gender – not to say they don't have the corresponding reproductive organs, but that deities aren't restricted by such things.
This much can be inferred from the explosive mythological tales he knew, albeit not extensively.
In human history, it's shocking enough to have marriages between siblings or between a mother and son, or a father and daughter, but the most mind-blowing would be a grandfather marrying his granddaughter.
Of course, such things have also happened on Earth, and the fact that they happened only adds to the explosive nature.
