Song Jiyun prepared to make Doucai.
The so-called Doucai is a type of porcelain decorated with blue and white patterns filled with colored glazes.
It required first firing blue and white porcelain at high temperatures, then filling the blank spaces or outlines of the blue and white patterns with various colors, followed by low-temperature baking in a smaller kiln. The colors were vivid and diverse. During the Xuande era, someone had successfully fired it. However, this craft demanded extremely high skills in controlling the temperature and glazing. Even in Jingde Town, no one had largely succeeded in making it for several decades.
