When I woke up, there was a familiar weight on my chest—warm and soft. The kind of weight that reminded me of the Treecat from before, a simple, happy feeling that made waking up worthwhile.
I cracked one eye open to find the beautiful black cat curled up, fast asleep, its front paws tucked neatly under its face. I couldn't resist. Slowly, I reached out and gently stroked its sleek fur. It twitched slightly but didn't wake, so I kept at it. Unlimited petting works activated.
Eventually, the cat's eyes fluttered open, blinking slowly at me with that regal stare. It stretched—everything stretched—all on top of me, its back arching as it let out a wide, yawning meow. Then, as though realizing what it had done, it snapped back to attention, its face perfectly serious.
