It was some time later but not that much later. At most a few days as Cami's power supply restored itself enough that she was able to come back online again. The village's chief place seemingly being different than the area where she has been with her lord the South Guardian for all those centuries. However, there was a reason why it took her a few days to come back online though.
Cami looked around and then down at herself as she noticed that she was wearing something now. As before she was not really wearing anything as she was just in her natural state as robots did not wear clothes after all. They were not humans and thus did not have a sense of modesty nor did they need to wear clothing in the first place. Their bodies were not affected by the weather and they did not have again the same sense of modesty that humans had themselves. There might have been more to it than that but she did not know the detail and really did not care about it herself. That was not something she was privy to know from her programming thus she did not know nor care about it as a result.
The clothing she was wearing now was just one really large white shirt that went down to her ankles and completely covered her arms and hands as well. A white shirt that was tinted green on the bottom of the shirt itself and sleeve cuff as well. Cami did not mind wearing this at the moment as it must have been placed on her by whoever brought her here after she went offline recently after coming into contact with those intruders that were disturbing her lord's territory.
"I see you have finally returned to us then," the village chief said as he noticed Cami was now online once again.
Cami then held up her arms as she wanted to know about this shirt she was currently wearing at the moment.
"That was put on you but Carter's mother," he told her.
"Carter" Cami asked curiously as she tilted her head slightly.
"The boy that found you along with the girl. It was his mother who suggested we give you that shirt" the village chef explained.
Wait...why would you....I guess that does make some sense when I think it over" Cami replied
She recalled her own ability and managed to figure out that she could not touch anyone directly, not even herself, without her ability activating. Moving her would be a hassle after all if she could not do so herself. This would make it easier to deal with her as she was being touched directly, and she could not affect herself so easily if her hands were covered by the shirt's sleeves.
"You claim that this was put on me after I was brought here but not before. Why would that be" the grey robot inquired
"No one thought about that, and by the time I suggested it, you were already here. Hello there. I am Carter's mom and Page's guardian, as those are the two who found you where you were. I was not around because they were affected after coming into contact with you but are not dead like the intruders you dealt with by them coming in contact with you directly or indirectly," Carter's mother said.
"Of course, they would not die from my touch as they are worthy of my Lord's protection and are allowed to live within his sphere of influence after all" Cami said proudly.
"We are worthy of the Southern Guardian's protection as they really do exist within this region," the village chief asked.
"Did you all think you were living here on your own? You are allowed to live here before my lord because he allows it himself even in his current state. If you were not allowed then you would have been constantly attacked and I would have even attacked you myself" Cami pointed out.
The reasoning behind her thinking was this was explained that if Page was from this village and desired to serve and be loyal to the Southern Guardian. This the place where she was from must also be loyal to him as well. Carter's mom had a smug look on her face which proves what she and her son knew along with that Page was truly a member of this village despite her origins as an outsider who was not born here. Having been told by the direct subordinate of the Southern Guardian themselves meant that clearly, Page's membership in this village was no longer in doubt. If she really were an outsider then she would have been treated as an intruder like those that attacked them and were dealt with by Cami. The Southern Guardian had accepted Page in the same way he had accepted them thus village chef was convinced as he was never for nor against Page's claims. Just that he had nothing to prove without a doubt one way or the other until now.
Cami's words carried that weight that he needed as the same feeling that told them to look after her while she was offline. The same feeling that also told them that despite the looks of things both Page and Carter were still alive as well. It was the same here as there was now no doubt of Page's constant claims that she did truly belong here and those who would continue to question her now were the ones who themselves needed to be questioned about their own views towards the village and its people.
"Now Lady Cami..." the village chief said before being interrupted.
"Why are you calling me Lady" Cami asked.
"As the direct subordinate of the Southern Guardian themself. You would hold a higher station than a mere village chief such as myself. Thus it would be disrespectful of me not to properly address you when speaking with you and/or about you" he explained.
"It is about Carter and Page, Cami" Carter's mother informed.
Neither Cami nor the village chief seemed to acknowledge or even care that he was now calling her Lady Cami but she just still just used her name plainly as before. Reasoning not seeming to come up on this issue at all between the three of them.
