I awoke to the sound of nothing, the sounds of crickets quiet, the sound of rustling bushes gone and any other noise that I had grown accustomed to in the wild.

Opening my eyes I stared at a man who sat in front of me, he sat on the floor with his legs crossed while staring at me, around us was nothing but a white void of nothing and yet I could 'feel' the floor beneath my feet.

" How peculiar." He said as I simply stared at his silhouette.

I didn't even register his words and simply stared at him, In doing so my thoughts all drifted towards his unnatural beauty, even compared to my own he outshined me like a sun to candlelight.

" Who are you? Where am I?" I shot out my questions, stilling my mind to ignore his beauty.

" Peculiar indeed." He said before grinning." I'm K'null, The Demon God Of Systems."

At that I simply paused, my mind going hundreds of miles as I connected the dots and came to my conclusions.

' Did my agreeing to update the system cause this? Is he the one who gave me my system?'

" I can see that you're already figuring some things out, good, I always liked smart people for my systems." The being that I now was sure wasn't human said, his words smooth and enchanting to my ears.

" I'm guessing that you're the one who sent me to that world? And that you're also the one that granted me that system?" I asked frowning, not sure how to feel for a moment.

The being, K'null, shook his head with a smile, amused I could infer.

" I admit, I did make your system but I had no hand in your reincarnation nor the bond you and your system have formed." K'null said throwing me off and making me frown.

" Can you... explain exactly what you mean by that?" I asked confused once more.

" The system which bonded to you was one of my earlier creations, unstable and flawed." K'null began as I watched his eyes glaze over almost as if reminiscing.

" It was one of my first prototypes as I tried recreating the infamous Gamer System, as you have already experienced, it didn't pan out as such." He said and I simply nodded listening intently.

" The only good thing about your system is its Gacha Function as without it, passing through level 10 is an uphill battle, items that are eligible to become class items are a dime a dozen after all." K'null said and immediately thanked my lucky stars for the fact that I had obtained a class item already.

" Speaking of the Gacha function, it was a mistake on my part connecting all my earlier systems Gacha item pools with my personal Archive of items I had obtained throughout my mortal journey." He said and I frowned, uneasy for a bit.

My thoughts wondered whether I'd lose the Gacha function now.

" Oh don't give me that look, the items in my Archive are dangerous and the systems that connected to it have made their hosts gods of their world so of course I had to stop connecting my latest systems to them." The being said not quelling my unease at all.

"*Scoff* Don't worry, I have no authority over your system anymore. I never imprinted on it after all, it was a failed product and I don't even know how it even found you in the first place." He said and I felt a bout of relief wash over me.

" So this system was never supposed to find me?" I asked.

" Yes, it never was. The fact that right now it's evolving while using that system shard you drew from the Gacha is fascinating though, it's filling out the cracks in its programming and fixing itself at a rapid pace, which is why I even knew of your existence in the first place." He said with a shrug staring at me with an amused smile.

" That still doesn't answer my question as to how I got here." I said frowning, I was curious to know who or what sent me to a post-apocalyptic world which so happened to be fiction.

" That would be just dumb luck or a series of fortunate events that allowed your soul to be shunted, shifted or inserted inside that body you currently are using." The being said with an uncaring shrug.

I pointedly stared at him, not knowing whether to believe him or not but decided to leave the subject entirely, I was alive and had the opportunity to become more, that was all that mattered.

" I see, then what now?...." I asked the most important question, why had he pulled me into this...place?

" Now we bargain." He said, his face immediately contorting into a predatory Cheshire grin.

" No thank you, just drop me off back where you found me." I quickly answered without thinking, there was no way in hell I would be making deals with...whatever the fuck this being was.

Heck, it had introduced itself as a 'Demon God' for crying out loud, in no way would I make it out of any deal made without getting fucked over.

" Hahahahahahahaha!" This seemed to amuse the being as I stared at it staring at me, looking at me as if I was some amusing animal in its eyes, its laugh rubbed me the wrong way.

"Hahah-*Cough**Cough* You're-*Cough*-you're at least cautious and smart enough to refuse a deal with a hellspawn, for that alone I'll grant you a boon." The thing said and I frowned awaiting the bullshit that would probably ensue.

" Holy...." I muttered my eyes wide as is stared at the perk.

This would be of great help, I could use my energy longer meaning that I could use my ability longer for the experiments I had been putting off due to the war.

So as I stared at the perk salivating I looked back up at the being that gave it to me and frowned, he was smiling as if he had won.

" If you think that's good, the things I could have given to you if you took my deal would have been way better." He said and I felt myself frowning further as my greed decided to latch on my mind since a long time ago.

" But, since I'm a nice god, I'll do you a solid, my deal is still open. So what do you say, Ezekiel?" He said grinning and I suddenly realized something.

I had fallen into its trap, giving me something so powerful as a 'gift' to instigate my lust for power and I played right through it.

So knowing that there was only one thing I could do.

" Deal!"
