It was obvious—Cloche had lost her composure.
Her eyes darted nervously around, and despite being a person capable of hiding her scent and heartbeat when she reallyneeded to keep a secret, her current state betrayed everything.
She was fundamentally not suited to deception.
"Cloche, you've been fidgeting this whole time. What's wrong?"
"N-No, um, that is..."
"I didn't think you were that skilled in magic. Honestly, I was planning to have you and Stella work together on the barrier. But, well, you did boast so confidently. You'll be fine, right…?"

Trembling with teary eyes, Cloche looked pitifully adorable.
Her proud black-wolf tail, which had been wagging confidently just a while ago, now drooped limply behind her.
"There's no way a proud member of the Black Wolf Tribe would bluff and then say 'Oops, I can't actually do it.' Man, I can't wait to see how this turns out!"
