After work, Su Chen followed Xia Qiuru's car in his own to the entrance of a restaurant in City South, a French restaurant.
Seeing the decor of the restaurant, Su Chen knew that it was upscale, and the cost would certainly not be cheap.
"Actually, we could have gone somewhere more casual. There was no need to come to this place," he said as he got out of the car. He knew that though Xia Qiuru had a decent income, she needed to support her family and also pay for her younger brother's expenses, so she wasn't wealthy.
"It's okay, it's just a meal, and I can afford it," Xia Qiuru said with a slight smile.
"Alright then, today I'm really going to let you treat me," Su Chen replied.
Since they were there, Su Chen didn't stand on ceremony; to do otherwise would have been awkward.
