"Ah, Sophia's off! Go, Sophia, hop, hop faster!" Candy was more excited than anyone, practically wishing she could hop along with her.
"Sophy, go! Steady now!" Capone couldn't help but shout as well.
By the time Laura was hopping out, she already had a clear lead. Capone's heart was in his throat—not because he was worried about losing, but because he was afraid she might trip and get hurt. "Baby, keep going, don't panic, keep your eyes on the front, yes, yes, go!"
Laura, fully motivated, was the first to hop to the finish line. The red team won, and cheers erupted all around.
Capone ran over with a smile, handed the sports drink to the mother and daughter, and kissed each of them on the face. He used a wet wipe to gently wipe the sweat off little Laura's face.
"Mom, Mom, we got a medal! Uncle, aren't Mommy and I amazing?"
