--------
The gate was bolted. The ghostly shadow paused in front of the gate, then with a leap, it climbed the persimmon tree next to the outside window and lay on the branches, its green-glowing eyes fixed on the person in the bed inside the room after the window was opened.
The person in the bed, covered with a thick quilt, lay in a peaceful posture, eyes closed, breathing evenly.
Although it possessed the power of spirit communication, it didn't understand what humans called a "sleeping beauty". It only knew that it wanted to bite this person to death and suck their energy, not only to heal its injuries but also to greatly replenish itself. (Don't worry, this isn't a scary story from "Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio").
Since it wanted to, it just did it, thus the ghostly fox shadow moved silently from the branch like a sticky bug... seeming like the next second it could leap nearer to that window, pounce onto the bed, and bite the woman to death in one breath.
