The psychic energy sword created by Guilliman looked quite powerful; just by holding it in his hands, the air itself was distorted by its exuberant power. Even though there was no energy leakage, the sword's body wavered gently as if it were a flame.
Guilliman himself seemed to have received a boost from the creation of this weapon. His blond hair waved gently, his body covered in a blanket of psychic power that resembled an aura of golden flames stirred by the wind.
The weak people in the stands sensed that Guilliman had become a dangerous creature and instinctively felt fear and awe at his figure; even Bulma, his opponent, couldn't help but feel a little admiration at the sight of the power unleashed by the man.
"You seem to have spent a lot of time training your psychic powers," Bulma pointed out, a bit intrigued by this matter.
Many powerful warriors and mages appeared in Dragon Ball, but psychics were always left on the side, the power of the mind treated as secondary, as a prop.
Even Freezer used this power more as a toy than a deadly weapon, so Guilliman undoubtedly caught Bulma's attention. In front of her, she saw someone who used psychic power as a forte, and that was rare but inspiring in a way.
"Although my martial arts talent is good, I never had much talent for Ki, but my psychic power is much better, even more convenient to use..." Guilliman was someone who liked to talk, so he didn't hesitate to explain his situation to Bulma.
"I sense three different uses of energy in you, Ki, psychic power, and magic. Luckily, I knew a witch.... Which one do you use?" asked Guilliman, interested in Bulma. He wanted to see why the girl before him had so much confidence.
Yes, Guilliman could sense the exuberant confidence in Bulma. As a psychic, he was quite sensitive to 'confidence, ' one of the drivers of psychic power at first, so he wanted to know how strong Bulma was.
Although he was not a warrior who used Ki, he was a fighter, and his heart was beating quite strongly right now with the desire to fight, and even his psychic power was fluctuating, responding to his excited emotions.
"Although I know how to use mental power and a spell, it's not what I'm dedicated to, but Ki. So... let's see which sword is better." At the risk that her comment could be misunderstood, Bulma showed her right palm and released her Ki.
"It seems that the two fighters are getting along well; it seems that Bulma wants to share her experience with swordsmanship." The announcer did his job and told what was going on in this fight.
"Although swordsmanship has been pushed aside due to the lack of materials to make good swords, there are many ancient stories of great martial artists using this weapon.
Energy weapons are a suitable replacement, and it looks like the audience will be able to enjoy a good fight," Muten Roshi commented, raising the expectations of the various spectators.
The purple ki Bulma emitted transformed into an energy sword, and the girl quickly made a sword flower as if testing the weapon. Then she nodded, pleased with what she had done.
Then, both fighters stood in silence, staring at each other. Then they both charged at each other, driven by their respective energies. Their swords clashed, and Guilliman felt that Bulma was much stronger than him.
Even though he knew he was weaker, Guilliman's determination did not waver, but rather, he pushed harder in his fight. Even if he lost, he would learn, improve, and enjoy this fight.
The two fighters fought for it, constantly testing their sword techniques. Although it was not a fight full of powerful blows like many of the previous ones, the spectators appreciated how rare it was to see a sword duel.
However, due to the intensity of the confrontation, Guilliman began to show much more weakness, and soon, his psychic sword was cut in two by Bulma's energy sword.
Seeing the broken hilt in his hand, Guilliman did not feel sad but looked at Bulma intensely again. Without a word, the meaning in his eyes was clear.
He would give everything. Guilliman's hands clasped together, all of his mental power pouring into the space between their palms, and as he did so, Bulma clasped her hands as well, in a classic pose.
"Kame!" the girl shouted, transforming the energy sword into a ball that started to grow but then compressed, and her actions ended up causing a lot of excitement in the audience; even the host stood up quite excitedly.
"Oh, by Kami-Sama! It looks like the two fighters are about to give it their all, and if I remember correctly, Bulma's words are the beginning of the name of the signature technique created by Muten Roshi. Did you teach her?" the host asked, causing Muten Roshi to shake his head.
"Technically, yes, but she is more the pupil of my pupil, Son Gohan. She is quite talented and has mastered my technique. She is an amazing young lady," Muten Roshi answered the moderator's question, causing the moderator to look quite pleased.
"Then we are about to see the clash of two seemingly great techniques! I don't know what Guilliman is doing, but it looks quite powerful." The host pointed to what Guilliman had created between his hands.
A sphere with a golden disk around it. Bulma even felt a change in the environment, especially the gravity. She smiled as her energy was emitted into her palms, steadily compressing a ball of purple energy.
"Hame!" Bulma's power could be felt by many of the fighters, and even though she had held back a bit so as not to reveal all of her cards, the power on display caught their attention.
"This technique has no name, but I was inspired by one of the spells of the witch I mentioned to you, named Yvraine, so I'll borrow that name..." said Guilliman, smiling rather excitedly.
"Ha!
"Black Hole!"
They both shouted at the same time, Bulma throwing the energy cannon in her hands forward, and a pillar of purple light flew straight at the 'Black Hole' launched by Guilliman.
The attacks, created by the same energy but manifested differently, collided. There was a powerful shock wave, and the wind even caused the spectators in the stadium to hold on to their things, such as hats or food, to prevent them from flying away.
Although Guilliman's attack was not a real black hole, it had the appearance of one and perhaps a hint of its function. So, Guilliman's attack absorbed some of Bulma's energy attack, but not all of it.
The rest of the energy was still under Bulma's control, and it split into small strands that hit Guilliman's body. Since he had put a lot of his psychic energy into his last attack, he didn't have much to defend himself.
So his body was bombarded by Bulma's energy threads, leaving bruises and burns on his body. His Black Hole, on the other hand, seemed to have reached an absorption limit, and under the watchful eyes of everyone, it expelled the energy back at Bulma, this time colored gold.
"What a good technique, but it needs improvement," Bulma said, holding one of her hands forward.
A purple shield of hexagons appeared in front of her, protecting her from the energy attack that was thrown back at her. Her other hand, however, still emitted the Kame Hame Ha that shattered the 'black hole' and flew towards Guilliman.
Guilliman's body is hit directly by Bulma's attack, and his body goes flying, pushed by the girl's attack. He flew out of the arena and crashed into a wall, filling it with cracks.
Soon, all the energy in the arena disappeared, leaving Guilliman unconscious on the ground outside the arena while Bulma stood calmly inside.
"Fighter Guilliman is disqualified! Fighter Bulma wins!" the announcer shouted with a lot of energy. He had enjoyed this fight, and he knew that the audience had as well.
...
"I seem to have become a little emotional," said Bulma, who had returned with the other fighters.
Her empathic ability made her realize that many of the fighters in this area had complicated emotions towards her, but the main one was caution. Except for a few people with other emotions, this was the norm.
"Don't worry Bulma, you just showed them how strong you are," Yamcha replied, even though the boy wasn't looking directly at Bulma when he said that, it was at least an improvement on his part to be able to communicate with her.
"Yes, it would happen sooner or later, you are strong and I think it would be hard to hide it for long," Krillin said with a strange naturalness in his tone, as if he had gotten used to it.
"Krillin, don't be complacent. You can reach that power and much more yourself," Bulma said, touching Krillin's bald head.
To her, he was someone special, because even if it had been something seen in the original series, Krillin had been able to acquire a rather useful but unexplored state of mind of his own, all because the man before her had given up on the pursuit of power due to the exuberant power shown by Goku and the rest in the future.
She did not want that fate for this companion, so she always tried to help him as much as she could. Krillin felt strange at Bulma's gesture, but his eyes were filled with determination.
He had received a lot of help and advice from this older sister, so he didn't want to disappoint her, so he promised himself to try as hard as he could and more.
On the other hand, Lapis and Lazuli were whispering to each other, constantly sneaking glances at Bulma to keep her from noticing them.
"That's why she was so trusting! That girl is really strong," Lapis said with excitement in his tone.
"That's risky; she might win, and we won't have the money to free ourselves from the Red Ribbon Army," Lazuli pointed out with some caution in her tone, causing Lapis' excitement to fade a bit.
"What if we talk to her? Look at her clothes, maybe she is rich and powerful, maybe she can help us. We could even offer her one of our techniques as payment..." Lapis said what came to his mind, and although Lazuli had her doubts, she nodded. At least it was better than just losing.
Other fighters were also quietly discussing Bulma. The fact that she was from Muten Roshi's lineage was remarkable, but that was only one of her embellishments, for not only her appearance attracted attention, but also the power she proved to possess.
Not only they, but many interested people focused on Bulma, including Pilaf. When he saw that Bulma was among the people he met that day when he went after the Dragon Ball.
"Looks like that girl has more power than I registered that time," Pilaf said quietly, because even with the video of Bulma's fight against those biochemical warriors, the main focus of him was always on Goku, until now.
"Then I'll have to make my new creation much stronger. Who knows if I'll have to fight her too," Pilaf thought, feeling new ideas coming to his mind, so he started to write them down while still watching the next confrontations.
...
"Now the next fighters! Yujiro Hanma vs. Yusuke Urameshi!" the announcer's voice called out the two names of the next fighters.
A man with tanned skin, red hair, and standing almost two meters tall. His muscles showed through his black t-shirt. His face had an unbridled smile full of ferocity as he watched the young man in front of him who looked quite threatening.
No wonder, because Yusuke Urameshi was.... strange. His hair was long and white, and although his body was slender, it was covered with muscles and scars.
Various blue marks on his exposed skin gave him a wild aura, and the fact that he was not wearing a shirt made this aspect of him stand out even more. By the way, the words of the host revealed a lot.
"The fighter Urameshi is a human who is capable of transforming into a demon, since we here do not judge a person's nature based on misunderstandings or rumors, I want to tell you these words, what interesting abilities will this young fighter possess?" the voice of the moderator drew a lot of attention to Urameshi at this point.
"Demons are like humans, there are good and bad ones. Although my master died fighting a so-called demon in the past, many of the stories about them show that they are just like us," Roshi said on behalf of Yusuke Urameshi, and his words made the viewers decide to give this young man a chance.
"Begin!" The gong was struck, announcing the beginning of the match.
