Houston looked at the scene before him. Despite his knees no longer holding up and himself slouched exhaustedly on the bench, he still straightened his back.
Beside him, someone took a seat.
It was Berry, "Old man, still holding up?"
Houston took a deep breath, yet his lungs felt like countless needles stabbing in, a bitter metallic taste rising, even breathing transforming into agony.
Still, Houston chuckled, "No, I'm done."
Houston turned his head to Berry, "Every part of my body is staging a rebellion; they're ready to go on strike. But Eric, would you believe it? I want to take the field again, I want to fight those guys one more time."
"I'm not finished yet."
A fiery resolve ignited in his chest.
Berry followed Houston's gaze to the back of the jersey number 23.
"The game isn't over yet."
