Jing Feng City, located in Guangwu County and bordering Fufeng County, had a continuous range of mountains lining its backdrop. If one wished to continue traveling south, they would need to make a large detour, taking a slightly smoother path across the mountain, which led directly into more manageable roads after the descent.
The most uniquely scenic spot along the route was atop these peaks, a large flat area of land, situated at an exceedingly high altitude.
It was named 'Candle Dragon Roost.'
An ancient legend claimed it was the dwelling of the mythical dragon deity, the Candle Dragon. Another account in "Observing the Mountains" suggested that the hundreds of miles of continuous mountain ranges resembled a lying dragon, breaking off abruptly at its highest point, resembling the Candle Dragon with a dragon's body and a human face.
