There it was, Xigou lying motionless on the ground, his butt emitting black smoke, still playing dead.
"Get up!"
Fang Zhixing rolled his eyes, walked over, and kicked him irritably.
"Ouch!"
Xigou sprang up at once, howling in pain, and turned his head to look at his butt, which was charred. His fur had been singed by lightning.
He complained, "Why am I so unlucky, why am I always the one getting hurt?"
Fang Zhixing said disdainfully, "Who told you to be so trash?"
Xigou argued back, "Have some conscience, will you? I took a lightning strike for you, alright?"
"Nonsense!"
Fang Zhixing glared and said, "The lightning struck you because you didn't dodge it on your own."
Xigou retorted, "That's because I'm big, an easy target. The giant snake focused on me. If it weren't for carrying you, I wouldn't have gotten so big!"
That made some sense.
Fang Zhixing scoffed, "The giant snake is a Mutant Beast, its natural prey is hunters, no matter your size, it would target you first."
