Chapter 183 - Chapter 183: The Night of the Five-Tails (Part 2)

With a bit of disguise, Uchiha Madara easily infiltrated Iwagakure.

The village's tight security was nothing more than a facade to a ninja of his caliber.

Earlier that morning, the Tsuchikage had left with his guards for the Daimyō's residence to discuss an increase in the economic budget. He wouldn't be back for a few days.

Madara chose this specific timing because Iwagakure's defenses were at their weakest.

Releasing the Five-Tails now would cause enough destruction to sow the seeds of hatred.

With this groundwork laid, he could later manipulate Iwagakure into capturing Tōshirō, implant a tailed beast within him, and then send him back to Konoha to unleash chaos—a strategy with a somewhat plausible cover story.

But before all that, he needed to find the Five-Tails Jinchūriki.

To prevent damage to the village from a possible outburst of the tailed beast's power, Jinchūriki were usually housed in remote corners of the village.

Madara had already pinpointed the exact location of the Jinchūriki, so he headed straight for the residence.

After a short while, he arrived at the place where the Five-Tails Jinchūriki was held.

The building before him resembled a prison more than a home.

He took a glance at it, ignoring the guards, and walked straight in.

"Who are you? Without a decree from Lord Tsuchikage, no unauthorized personnel may enter!"

A guard raised his weapon, sternly warning him.

Madara paid no attention and kept moving forward.

"Wait, if you keep going—"

The guards suddenly froze, their eyes empty and vacant.

The Sharingan could cast genjutsu through visual contact, and the Mangekyō Sharingan offered even more powerful abilities.

Although Madara was not particularly skilled in genjutsu compared to taijutsu and fire-style jutsu, dealing with guards of this level was a trivial task.

One by one, he easily put down the sentries and soon stood before the cell of the Five-Tails Jinchūriki.

His gaze pierced through the iron bars, staring directly at the elderly man with graying temples inside.

This old man was the target—the Five-Tails Jinchūriki.

After the tailed beasts were distributed by Hashirama, he had a beast sealed within him.

"Fearing the power of the tailed beasts while relying on them to protect the village—what a ridiculous irony."

Madara's hoarse, mocking voice lingered in the air.

Through the hole in the mask, the Five-Tails Jinchūriki saw a single eye. Its red hue shimmered with a sharpness so intense that it seemed to capture every breath and every slight hair movement. Meeting that gaze felt like being on a battlefield, inducing an involuntary shiver.

The ominous presence of the masked man caused the Jinchūriki's heart to sink.

He glared at Madara and asked sternly, "What are you?"

He didn't blink, as if trying to see through the mask to the face beneath.

Madara looked at him as if he were already a corpse, his expression cold. "You're going to die anyway. What difference does knowing make?"

This arrogant attitude, as if victory was already in hand, made the Jinchūriki furious—literally fuming. The air around him hissed as his body began to emit steam.

Madara's eyes narrowed with a hint of interest, and a smirk curled his lips. So this was Boil Release, developed through the power of the tailed beast...

Boom!

With an explosion, a figure was blown away amidst a cloud of smoke.

In the next instant, another figure rushed forward, enveloped in steam, like a human pressure cooker.

Madara evaded the attack, nonchalantly commenting, "Impressive speed."

The Five-Tails Jinchūriki was shocked. Under the influence of Boil Release, his speed and explosive power were greatly enhanced. Few could keep up with him. Yet, despite this, he couldn't gain an upper hand over this mysterious man.

No choice left—seems I'll have to use my real strength.

The Five-Tails Jinchūriki made up his mind. A white tail sprouted from his body as he entered a partial tailed beast transformation, further boosting his speed and strength.

The power of a tailed beast, huh?

Uchiha Madara's eyes turned red, with three tomoe swirling around his pupils. "Then I'll show a bit of my strength too."

Noticing the change in Madara's eyes, the Five-Tails Jinchūriki was taken aback. "Those eyes are…"

Only one clan in the entire ninja world possessed such eyes.

"You're from the Uchiha clan!"

The Jinchūriki shouted in shock.

Madara did not respond. In an instant, he appeared right in front of him. The Jinchūriki, startled, hastily struck back, but his moves were effortlessly seen through.

Madara grabbed his arm with his right hand, locking his muscles and bones in place.

The Jinchūriki swung his other fist, shrouded in steam, like a boiling pressure cooker.

Madara ducked under the steaming punch, narrowly avoiding it. Then, his eyes flashed, unleashing an overwhelming force of ocular power through their gaze.

The Jinchūriki's expression turned blank. Taking advantage of this opening, Madara quickly weaved hand seals and pressed a sealing technique onto his abdomen.

The Jinchūriki was hit instantly.

Madara let go of his arm and stepped back.

The Jinchūriki clutched his stomach, cold sweat on his face, his knees buckled as he collapsed to the ground.

Meanwhile, Madara didn't remain idle. He rapidly performed hand seals, and stone pillars rose from the ground, adorned with sacred ropes. Strange black incantations flowed out, twisting into visible black chains that wrapped around the Jinchūriki, lifting him into the air.

Madara brought his index and middle fingers together, performing a single-handed seal, his crimson eyes fixed on his target.

The Jinchūriki, pale and weakened, gasped, "With power like this… who are you?"

As a Jinchūriki, being defeated in a single exchange wasn't a testament to his weakness but rather to his opponent's terrifying strength. One wrong move had led him into an inescapable abyss.

Madara offered no answer, his powerful vision allowing him to see the creature within the Jinchūriki.

A being that was horse-like but not quite a horse, with five soft white tails, skin as white as snow, and a head resembling a blend of a dolphin and a horse. Its slender, graceful form stood in stark contrast to the grotesque shapes of other tailed beasts. This beast was known for its beauty.

But underestimating it for its appearance would be a grave mistake—countless humans who had coveted it had fallen under its merciless iron hooves.

Yet, despite its blend of beauty and power, even this Five-Tails beast showed fear under Madara's daunting gaze. "Those are Sharingan… Who are you?"

In its long existence, the Five-Tails had encountered wielders of the Sharingan before, but never with such immense ocular power.

Madara cast a cool glance at the Five-Tails.

The beast widened its eyes. "What do you intend to do?"

Madara's eyes focused with intense power. "Nothing much—just thought I'd let you out for some fresh air…"

"!?"

The Five-Tails stiffened, its pupils twisting into the shape of three tomoe.

Madara lowered his hand, speaking with a hint of disdain. "Huh, this feels much easier than controlling the Nine-Tails back then."

In the next moment, the Jinchūriki let out a scream as a white mass surged out of his body.

The process lasted a few seconds, and the white mass formed into a massive white figure—four-legged, five-tailed, with horns on its head—the Five-Tails.

In the dark of night, Madara looked at the towering tailed beast before him, his crimson eyes glowing ominously. "Go. Trample everything here."
