"Everyone, quiet!"
Uchiha Shin walked up to the high platform and slowly spoke to the crowd: "Today is the day for the clan meeting, be quiet!"
Today, Uchiha Shin was the host, calming the emotions of the common people!
As expected, Uchiha Shin's words were effective. After he spoke, the people who were still buzzing in the crowd completely quieted down and turned their attention to the arena.
Senju Hayashi protected Sasuke as he sat at the very front of the high platform. From this position, he could clearly see everyone's expressions on the stage and hear every word spoken.
"What do you want me to do?" Uchiha Sasuke asked, looking at the scene before him.
He didn't know what else he was supposed to do here, besides be judged for his crimes.
"I don't know, this is the spot Genya-sama arranged for you!" Senju Hayashi wiped the sweat from his forehead, though it was invisible: "Don't worry, Genya-sama won't target you. Just stay here quietly."
He too was unsure of Genya's intentions.
"Just relax, I have no other intentions!" Genya suddenly appeared beside Sasuke: "Listen carefully during this clan meeting, after it's over, I want to talk to you."
There were things he needed to clarify with Sasuke, and subtly guide him, so that Sasuke's mentality and beliefs wouldn't be shaken.
"You really have no other intentions?" Sasuke asked, looking at Genya with a mix of surprise and confusion, but more of a blank expression!
In the past, he was the young master of the Uchiha clan and never really paid attention to Uchiha Genya. But now, things had changed. He was now the sinner of the Uchiha clan.
That Genya was treating him so well was already surprising enough!
If it were Sasuke in Genya's position, any clansmen who committed such a grave mistake would have their entire family punished—executed. But Genya hadn't done that.
Sasuke knew that Genya didn't need to do anything directly to have him killed. The angry clansmen would do it for him.
The young Sasuke couldn't fathom what Genya was thinking.
"Listen, after this clan meeting, you might gain some insight!" Genya left with those words, standing up and walking away.
He didn't have time to waste talking to Sasuke.
Sasuke, seeing Genya leave, didn't speak any further and instead directed his gaze to the high platform.
"Next, I have an important announcement to make!" Uchiha Shin spoke slowly again. But as soon as he said this, the room fell silent once more.
Some even held their breath.
Everyone knew that the real show was about to begin.
Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Uchiha Shin continued, "As you all know, the disaster that befell the Uchiha clan a few days ago, caused by Itachi's defection, led to the tragic downfall of our clan leader, Fugaku."
"Now, our Uchiha clan is in a leaderless state, and this will only lead to further chaos. Therefore…"
At this point, Uchiha Shin intentionally paused, observing the expressions of the people before continuing, "After much discussion with a hundred elite ninjas from within the clan, we have unanimously decided to elect Uchiha Kinya as the new clan leader!"
"During the recent foreign invasion, Uchiha Kinya remained calm under pressure. He led a team to intercept dozens of invading ninjas and then sent reinforcements to minimize the damage to the Uchiha clan!"
"Furthermore, he also helped establish the Uchiha Hospital..."
The next long section was dedicated to praising Uchiha Kinya's great achievements and contributions to the Uchiha clan.
The people listening were filled with excitement, now holding Uchiha Kinya in even higher regard. They hadn't realized just how much he had done for the Uchiha clan, and after hearing Uchiha Shin's words, they were even more convinced.
"Thus, we nominate Uchiha Kinya as the leader of the Uchiha clan. Does anyone have any objections? If so, we can revisit the decision!"
They spoke of Uchiha Kinya's heroic deeds, then looked down at the crowd, waiting for opinions.
"I support Kinya as clan leader!"
"I support him!"
"I also support. Only Kinya can lead the Uchiha to greater heights."
"I support him too!"
"Support!"
The conclusion of this matter was as expected. It was clear that Uchiha Kinya's leadership was a done deal. Even if there were objections, they would be overshadowed by his supporters.
The air was filled with cheers, enough to ignite one's passion!
Uchiha Sei, despite still being injured, attended the clan meeting. Listening to the cheers, his face was full of bitterness.
It seemed there was a sense of relief and resignation.
He had once been a loyal supporter of Uchiha Fugaku, but now, he was left feeling helpless, perhaps regretting his loyalty. He had allowed Uchiha Itachi to gain the chance to massacre their clan!
From trusting the village unconditionally, to following Fugaku in planning a coup, to being betrayed by Fugaku's son, the Uchiha clan had suffered terribly.
Even his wife and children perished in the chaos, leaving him alone, a widower. At this point, his heart had turned to ashes.
Now, he believed Uchiha Kinya could lead the Uchiha clan to prosperity and even glory. He was ready to contribute his final efforts to the Uchiha clan.
"Now, please welcome our clan leader to the stage to speak!" Uchiha Shin listened to the cheers of the crowd and eagerly welcomed them.
Applause filled the air.
Uchiha Kinya walked out with a smile, bowing to the crowd. "I, Uchiha Kinya, am honored to become the leader of the Uchiha clan. Thank you all for your support. I will do my best to lead the Uchiha clan to the peak of greatness!"
The sound of applause rang out as soon as Uchiha Kinya finished speaking.
"This time, our Uchiha clan has gone through a period of turmoil!" Uchiha Kinya raised his hand, signaling for silence before continuing, "A total of 147 clan members have died, and there are still 23 injured members recovering. Among them, 21 entire Uchiha families were wiped out, and many lost brothers, sisters, or parents!"
Uchiha Kinya listed all the casualties in detail.
"21 families wiped out, 147 people dead!" As Uchiha Kinya spoke, the crowd became filled with anger and determination.
"147 people... 21 families completely wiped out!" Uchiha Sasuke, sitting at the front, clenched his small fists tightly, murmuring softly to himself.
These were all the sins of his older brother. 21 entire families wiped out!
What did those people do wrong? Why? Why did his older brother do this?
This blood debt... was caused by his older brother!
