"Am I sexy?"
It was hard to imagine how to respond to that question. After all, it came completely out of the blue.
And whenever I didn't know what to say, I tended to just choose honesty.
"Yes, I'm sure you were courted by several men at the party."
It was precisely the fact that so many people were flirting with her that made her uncomfortable. She couldn't have failed to notice that she was, by far, the most beautiful woman in her group of friends.
"Yes, but... well, they weren't very attractive... I mean, at least not to me, so..."
She struggled to describe the basic fact that the men who hit on her didn't turn her on or strike her as handsome. In other words, they were people who didn't have many options.
