Chapter 3 - Chapter 02 "Faiza" The Law.

Present time 2023, September 13th.

Location: Brookevilla Town.

It's a busy railway station, the train stop is at 032 plot. Passengers are rushing to get inside, while others are having difficulty stepping out, I too get out of the train. People tend to stay out of my way because of my badge. Not always because they want to, but because they have to.

"Detective Faiza" Ali gave me a call, walking toward me. yes, I was talking about my Detective badge. What else would a criminal town like this will fear, if not upper side police.

I turn around to look at him, his black wavy hair flowing with the wind, his broad shoulders perfectly complimenting his suit, with a trench coat, I too am wearing a long dark brown trench coat, belted at the waist, and with the tapping of my chocolate brown heels, it does attract the attention.

He passes me a photograph of two young boys with his sleeves folded half way showing his veiny arms. I take the photograph, and I start to ask a few local people of this town if they know anything about them, it'll be hard to recognise them since these photographs are from almost eight years ago, but at least these local people must know something about them if they've been living here way longer than just eight years. If these guys are still around here somewhere, they must be at least around twenty-five. Based on my observation, they're young men, with dusty brown hair, one with a pair of almond shaped eyes and the other having round eyes.

I ask some people here and there, either they say they don't know them or they don't recognise, which is impossible, and I don't believe they're being very honest. My nerves are getting tensed. My first investigation as an official individual detective, thus a reason why I need to make a good impression. I have to know if these guys work with or for Faisal.

Faisal is known for his act of narcotracfficking, providing and the control of import, export and manufacture, sale, supply, distribution of drugs And money laundering. He handles one of the most known mob of smugglers who do his dirty work. For centuries these mob leaders have been ruling over brookevilla town, and have been involved in political aspects. They're dominated on those cilivans, and they've long before time, have accepted them as their rulers. The system kept repeating till it became traditional. In today's period, Faisal is the third ruler of those smugglers. Our captains know about him, What they do is understood, known but not clarified, not visible to arrest them properly, or legally. But they can't live freely forever, and that's where we make an entrance. We are employed personally by our lieutenant to investigate this particular crime case. Now, Our job is to capture Faisal red handed. Consumption of illegal drug trades are widespread globally, and it remains very difficult for local authorities to reduce the rate of drug consumption. we can't press chargers on him as because we have no clear proof. I must say they do their work very well hidden without leaving any hint behind, and of course my first assignment had to be to find proof on them, and prove him guilty, I've heard his best men are shipping new hard core drugs next week, so it might just be the perfect time to get them. The only problem is I don't know these men, how they look now, their identity is also kept hidden, so the thing is they might right be under our noses and we still wouldn't be able to know if its them who we're looking for. They can be living their normal lives. And that's the tricky part, which is why we need to investigate their background, who they are, their personal identities and what they do in their normal plus pretend lives. Having to live in the underworld has the advantage to switch personas, they'd be the most dangerous people, drug trafficking, Money laundering in the underworld while still managing to be the sweetest in the upper world, which adds to our problem. I need to be careful, one wrong step and everything is gone.

"They're lying, aren't they." Ali said, scanning the whole station with his one hand in the front pocket of his pants.

"What makes you think they're lying?" I reply, though I already know for sure they're lying, I just want to learn his perspective, he leaned in a bit "I've been in this world for ten years, I think I have enough experience to figure this much out." Makes sense as he's thirty five years old, but the confidence in his tone makes me laugh but I don't laugh out loud, I've never laughed in public or in front of anyone, I think it's unnecessary and such waste of oxygen, I don't give him any reaction nor do I respond to him, I just walk passed him when I hear him say something again.

"You look tired, do you maybe uhm want to grab some coffee? Who says we can't have coffee during investigation right?"

My lips curl inward, I sigh and gave him a look of no.

"Fine, let's move forward." Ali said.

"I don't think these people will be cooperative with us, it's either they really don't want us to know who these men are or perhaps they actually don't know who they are." I say, walking towards a taxi I booked "Or maybe they've been threatened not to speak." Ali said as he walks besides me "Yeah, maybe you're onto somthing." A little compliment won't hurt, it doesn't happen quite often, his lips slightly curl upwards but he managed a stiff exterior.

"So we're heading deeper in the town?" Ali sat in the taxi with me. "We must." I close the door of the taxi and we start going up the hill.

Just by the sense of this case,

I have a feeling this will go a long way..
