Chapter 14 - Chapter 13 "Sam" The slipping Away.

-11:00am

-Gambino residence.

"So basically he wants to meet with us himself after abandoning us isn't because he's foolish but because he isn't aware of the fact that we're going to caught him off guard with our strategy of torture?" I repeat after our operation procedure guideline was enlightened to us.

"Has anyone ever mentioned how effusive you are Sam?" Mr Faisal smirked.

"Negative" what does effusive even mean?

"It's necessary to apply threat on him. In this world, the strong is the one who stands before his opponents and rivals. Who creates fear in souls not property. We've set an example for our hub, for anyone who becomes traitor of trust and unholy of loyalty" Mr Faisal released his cigar's smoke. "Find out what he has on us, threaten him so that he knows the consequences of turning blue."

"Your definition of threaten or ours?" I ask because his ways can get a little violent. His eyes widened, and the smrik faded.

"Son there is only one definition to this day." His voice deepened. "And that's my way."

"Violence it is." I release a pitiful chuckle. Yeah? He's forgetting, he's the one I've learnt everything from, therefore I create my own ways, and I've been seeking some action for some while now.

Bingo.

We leave his territory.

-

"Can't we modify the torture part?" Ifan iches his elbow, talking under his breath to be anonymous.

"Do you want him to not be scared of us?"

I say, rasing my brow in skepticism.

Mr Faisal has always taught us to value the power and dignity he's earned and to warn anyone who comes in the way of distracting our success in this black business. That's why we're going to teach Jawad the same thing but in a different manner. We're taught to behave unless or until the oppesser's behaviour becomes effective. He can't nudge statement of power on us because he's the one being loose.

I'm on Faisal's side on this one. He's right. I respect and learn from his mindset, after all he is a senior and twice as experienced than us.

"Scaring people isn't the way to gain power." Ifan said, disgusted with how we handle things.

He may be different than us, but as long as the job is done, he's okay with me being the villain and that's a relief. Not everyone accepts your doubts, flaws, and wickedness.

"Let's get our hands dirty Ifan!" I rub my hands evilously. "Muhahah–"

"Sorry to interrupt you but by dirty you mean actual dirt right?" Ifan's eyes fond deeper

"Right." I say.

I did meant actual dirt, what else would I mean? Blood? Puffs—

We're walking to our cars.

"Sam are you good bro?" Ifan asked me.

"Yeah why?" Why would he ask me that?

"Bro? you're not shitting me, are you? don't tell me you don't remember last night?" His pupils grew wider in concern.

"Did we have sex?" I fake gasp, for funny purposes, obviously. I mean what could've happend?

"No, what the what?" He looked back and front.

"Oh.. I always thought one day we'd fall in love."

"Sam, I'm serious. you really don't remember?" He bit back his shock.

"Fine, I'll try to remember.." I stand till, stroking my chin.

Let's see— banger party,

I got promoted— also banger news,

I got super drunk— everything's a blur after that, we got home.

Elif with victor—

"Oh my God." My mouth wide opened.

"Don't worry we took her home safely."

"I cried like a fool, didn't I?" I turn to face him.

"You uhm.. might have." His face contorted into a grimace, his teeth clenched in embarrassment.

"Did I do it infront of her!?"

"Oh no, no.. but afterwards yes." He sheepish grin spreads across his face.

"Oh thank God." That's a huge relief off of my shoulders.

"Are you okay?" He still has sheepish behavior.

"I will be.. to be honest I was surprised why universe was being nice, now we're back to normal."

But..

That's so petty— it's just sad

My girlfriend sleeping with victor wasn't something I saw coming. I wonder if.. he's better in bed than me, did she have a good time? Why was I not enough for her, was it because I'm emotionally unavailable or physically? One day I will ask her.

but then again it'd be impossible to think victor— good in bed because I'm the one best at it. I'm speaking from experience.

"Enough of the baby talk, let's get our man to speak up."

My walkie talkie vibrated.

"Part to bar, Jawad is located." Voice message ended.

-Location: Night Club-

We walked in, with a sly smile, I tilted my head, my sunglasses slipping down to midpoint, as I slide my shades down the bridge of my nose.

Cocktail party bar.

Oh so he's rich rich, no wonder he left Faisal's territory.

I think I've gone blind, it was so sunny outside, weather's hot, but the minute we stepped in, The nightclub, eclipse pulsed with energy, neon lights danced across its sleek, black exterior, beckoning revelers inside. The entrance, flanked by burly bouncers, led to a cavernous space filled with, Strobe lights flashing like fireworks and thumping music vibrating the floor, pole dancers swinging their hips around the pole, I'll admit, they're beautiful, extremely beautiful.

Glittering disco balls spinning above while we hear patrons laughing, dancing, and lost in the beat. A very attractive woman walking by, stopped to trance the length of my body. "Hey" She seductively touched my chest moving her hand slowly down.

"madam" I held her hand to make it stop right there. I'm grimacing.

"We're looking for the VIP room." I acted bold.

"Come I'll lead you." She walked ahead of us.

"VIP" it's written in a very golden font, the area's hidden behind velvet curtains.

"There" She said. "Ah its there huh?thankyou." I kissed her hand, our eyes met in a fluttering stare.

"Come on" Ifan rolled his eyes, pulling me inside.

I waved her bye, and so did she.

When we entered, I catch Ifan nodding in disappointment.

"What? she helped.."

"Let's focus on why we got here." He's the one to act professional.

"I was only thanking her jeez."

-Basement (VIP Lounge)

We walk down a hidden stairway. The basement VIP lounge is held for secrecy hours. The Underworld awaited hours. This intimate space whispered exclusivity. How did he manage to get here on his own? normally people like us who work for the hub's leaders, it takes us ages to finally reach the post to be able to step here, we were only welcomed because we're Faisal's dominant hand now. What the hell is he?

-Time of the meeting: 1:29am

After we waited for him for a while, a few minutes later he did came from the way same we did.

"Ah Mister jawad, I didn't thought you'd actually show up." I taunt. "It's adorable how cute you look in those pants." I act as to be fake impressed.

Dim red lighting casted seductive shadows.

"What can I say, when business calls we kneel down." He took a seat across from me.

"Business isn't being petty and leaving parties as quick as we find more advantage somewhere else." My voice turned from taunting to serious, blank and void.

"Grab him." Two of my guards walked out of nowhere, tied Jawad to his seat,

immediately grasped his arms and tied

them down backwards.

"What is this dismannered behaviour!?" He shouted as he tried hard to force himself free. "This wasn't in our deal mention!" He yelled, struggling to push them away. His men hoped out of the sides and aimed their guns on us.

"Sam." Ifan called me, that's when I noticed his men behind Ifan aiming at Ifan's head.

Are those Jawad's paid team?

"If you do anything to me, they won't hesitate to shoot him." Jawad smirked, still tied up.

"Tell me what I want to hear." I ignored his threatening.

"We have different deflects." He said being serious

"You're fucked up." I say, tauntingly.

"Sam, can we talk like adults?"

"I don't think that will work with you?" I tilt my head sideways. "Did you paid these guys to come because as far as I know you're all alone so why don't you put a hold on your lies and tell me what the fuck are you after?" I stayed calm but bold, and raised my voice a little, slightly bending to match his height.

"I have my name, and that's enough."

"Yeah and what was it again? Jafar?" I said in sarcasm.

"I'm here to talk."

"So let's talk."

"Let go of me first, this is unethical."

"You turning blue on us is also considered unethical Jawad."

He stares me in my eyes.

"So you do remember my name."

"What are you after?" I ask again, this time strictly.

"Let go of me first, I'll speak only then."

"I don't believe you." I stroke my eyebrow with the tip of my gun.

"That's the problem."

"What is your intention?" I roll my sleeves half way up, with my free hand, whilst I hold my gun, aiming at the floor as I act being unbothered by his presence.

"Why would I tell you?"

"Isn't that why you arranged a meetup with Faisal?" I said, squinting my eyes, mockingly.

"I did."

"Then tell me what is your intention?" I asked calmly.

"I work for someone just like how you work for Faisal."

"Then you must tell us? Right?" I said.

"I'll talk to Faisal"

"By all means, Jawad. I'm being generous, this attitude won't last for long, I fear." I kept the calmness.

"Who do you think you're talking to Sam?"

"I'm waiting."

"I'm not answerable to you."

"I am waiting." I'm yet calm.

"You can't order me around—"

"I said I'm fucking waiting Jawad, don't test my patience" I aimed my gun staight at his forehead.

"Sam we're not supposed to—"

"Let me Ifan" I talk over him. Ifan walked back.

Faisal said threaten. This is it.

"Spit it out." I slowly move my finger on the trigger.

"You're acting up with anger, which isn't a good sign." He said, pretending to be cool.

"I'll show you a good sign, don't you worry about that." I replied.

"You can't kill me."

"Oh yeah?" I reload my gun.

"Sam he's provoking you." Ifan yelled.

"I want to see what more can he do." I dig my gun deeper.

"Sam don't do it." Ifan gently took a step closer.

"You're either going to tell me right now why you came here, what your intentions are with us, why you left and what the fuck are you behind? You're going to spill everything here and quick, or else I'll shoot your head right here at the this exact position, exact second. I'll shoot it low and close till your head explodes."

"I'd like to watch you try."

Anger is bad luck, anger is bad luck.

"Then I guess you'll enjoy this."

"SIR SAID DON'T" Ifan yelled again.

"Tell me WHY?"

"Sam we're not permissable to shoot." Ifan stepped beside me. Jawad's garuds reloaded their gun, the crisp sound of it echoed through our shouting, they aimed staight at Ifan.

"HE WILL talk or I'll shoot"

"I won't"

"You will!"

He's getting on my last nerve. I won't leave.

"Do what you can."

"Oh I'll do it." I force my gun deeper in his head.

"DO IT" Jawad screamed at me.

"DON'T" Ifan yelled from behind me.

"Do it you coward, DO IT, KILL ME or I'll kill you!" Jawads spits and shouted.

"YOU'LL SPIT THE TRUTH." I reciprocated his tone.

"KILL ME."

"SAM DON'T"

"KILL me Sam, KILL ME."

AAAHHHH—

BANG

BANG

BANG

I pulled the trigger.

Heavy sighs in and out.

Jawad opened his eyes, unable to scan the situation.

"The gun was empty fucker." A chuckle escaped my lips.

"You should've seen the look on your face, did you really thought I'd kill you and go against Faisal." I said, laughing

"Come on you two grab him."

Before my grauds could pull him up, I couldn't see that Jawad was bluffing, he had untied his hands free while I was negotiating him, in an instant he hits my head for distraction,

Did that bitch just hit my head with an iron mental stick!?

My elbow hits the ground as I grow unconscious.

Jawad climbed upstairs and jumped down through the window,

his men shot our men who were supposed to me standing near the window. Two of Jawad's men standing behind us attacked Ifan, but he single handedly kocked them off. I stand there watch him do his thing, and even though my eye catches blood sweeping down my forehead, I was about to sprint through the alleyway, my gun drawn as I pursued him. Suddenly, I hear a cry of pain behind me, I spun around to see my teammate who got shot, clutching his arm as he stumbled to the ground. I quickly rush to his side, shielding him from potential harm. "Ahmed, can you move?" I ask, he's penting, he's losing blood. He grits his teeth, his face pale with pain. "I...I think so."

I quickly assess the situation. Jawad's still at large, but ahmed's safety must be top priority. I call out my other man to carefully lift him, carry him and they began to move him to a secure location.

"Hang in there, bud" I say, my voice calm and reassuring as he carried him away. While I was taking care of Ahmed,

"He's escaping!" Ifan yelled for my attention.

"Not on my watch" I gestured my guards to run around the club to secure the area, whereas Ifan and I, we ran behind Jawad, we ran upstairs and jumped outside the same window, the backstreet is tight, Rats ran through our feet. A wooden piece of old furniture fell and that's when I catch him running left. "He's going left!" I order Ifan, we matched his speed, got almost to him when he shoved the dustbin down, tripping down, I dodged but the alley is blocked now. It was already piled with crap, there's no way we can walk through it. "Fuck!" My hands flew up in exasperation. I'm penting, Ifan catches up to me "where now?" His eyes scanned the scenario. Come on, think Sam think.

"Quick—quick, let's get back, we'll step closer through the stort cut." I said and both of us ran all the way around the street to cross the blocked area. The whole chasing him led us to a docking facility of boats, This town seriously needs to stop shitting with us. Jawad hopped into one of the boats where already some of the people from his side were ready to start the engine. Those shady figures in dark sunglasses, glanced nervously over their shoulders.

"Your call Ifan." I asked, wiping sweat off of my forehead. "Shall we follow him or let him get away."

"When have we ever let somone get away?" He smiled through the pain. Yeah that's what I'm talking about!

His smile radiated action, and I love action. He became a bit blur in my vision when I paid focus on what's behind him.

Jet ski—

Thankyou universe!

Bingo,

We jump on two jet ski bikes, rotating the keys to give it a kick.

Water rushing our feets, ocean gleamed

beneath the scorching sun as Ifan and I, on a sleek, black jet ski thundered across the waves. Our faces squinting, I gripped the handlebars tightly, eyes fixed on our target, Jawad..

"Move right! move right!" I raised my arm high for Ifan to notice, pointing right. Ahead, their sleek, white speedboat sliced through the water.

Our jet ski's engine roared as we're riding with maximum speed, in our black suits, soaking, sleeves half way folded. These suits are so not for jet skiing.

We gained speed, Water sprayed around us, creating a misty veil, My hair whipped back, my face buffeted by the rush of air.

"Get closer!" Ifan yelled over to me, his voice lost in the din of our engines. The jet ski surges forward. I, expertly navigate the choppy waters, dodging waves, How am I always this awesome? Their boat zigzags, attempting to shake us. But Ifan and I are relentless, my skills had honed from countless hours on the water. Suddenly, their driver made a daring, more like a escaping turn, heading straight for a narrow channel between two Islands, we're not here to give up either, my heart is racing with anticipation. That's when my ear piece started ringing aggressively, who the fuck could that be?

"I'm in the middle of something." I yell so that my voice reaches the other side.

"Get back now!" It's Mr Faisal. I raised my arm to make Ifan stop the engine. "What? Why?"

I'm so confused, why?

We're so close,

"He's slipping away!" Ifan shouted.

We should run up to him, why is Mr Faisal stopping us? What the heck?

"He's bluffing, he's got nothing on us, get yourself on a land nearby, Asap." But Mr Faisal has other plans, I guess.

"Your call Sir." I look over at Ifan, he's staring at the boat as they escaped through.

Damnit, curse you Jawad.

-

-

We parked near a clear land. "We did." I say, tapping my ear piece. "Be back at mansion around six." Victor spoke. "I refuse a command coming from a dick sucking man." I removed my ear piece.

Ringtone buzzing.

"It's Mr Faisal" Ifan handed me my spare waterproof mobile.

"Put it on speaker." I say, wiping water off of my forehead, Ifan puts my moblie on speaker.

"He was bragging, he's a maniac." Mr Faisal tried to make me understand. "I know you're determineded right now— that's what he wanted, we'll discuss more later."

"Yeah." I clicked my tongue in dispointmmet.

"I won't say I told you so." Ifan hanged up the call. "How are you always so right buddy." My sarcasm is just on peak these days.

"They don't call me Ifan the brilliant for no reason." He tapped his own shoulder proudly.

"No one calls you that." My seriousness turned into laughter at Ifan's comment.

"Shut up" Ifan walked across me. I laughed again.

"You were scared, too. Right? You thought I'd actually pull the trigger." I say walking behind him.

That was hilarious.

"But on a serious note, we were so close." Ifan ran his hand through his wet hair.

He's a hot guy, I wonder why he's still single.

"What do you think? Why did Jawad call us here." He asked.

"I don't know buddy, but he's onto something, Mr Faisal can't see that now but he will once I uncover his face, he's not bluffing, he's after us."

"After us for what?"

"That's what we have to uncover brother." He's working for someone, maybe that someone could be the one who destroyed my family.

Not a pawn, not a leader, Someone different.

something far.. far more sinister is going on inside his head,

Whoever he is..

Mr Faisal needs to be careful.

We all need to be a little more careful.

I need to be careful.
