Laurel couldn't stand seeing James, and if she talked about it more, she felt like she was going to cry. She was too proud of herself to cry in front of him, especially when he had already hurt her so much with his comment.
Without anything to say, Laurel turned around and then left. She didn't want to hear anything else out of his mouth. There was no point to it. He was simply being very cruel towards her at this moment.
"Laurel, where are you going?"
"I need some time; please leave me alone for a while."
The next day, Laurel stopped doing anything for them. She questioned all the years of their marriage if Carl and James thought of her that way.
She didn't come to Carl's training, and she didn't even accompany them for breakfast and dinner.
Usually, she would be there, and it was this house's rule to have breakfast and dinner together since they would have a busy day.
