Chapter 117 - The Council II

(Baelon's POV)

"Trevor's motives were to start a war and overtake the Iron Throne." Otto said, "With that, he will have the power of dragons. Using his power, he spreads his corruption everywhere and kickstarts events that lead to devastation. It is a good thing he was stopped."

"He's dead now." I said

We were still in the Council room, only Daemon, Otto, and I remained. The others had left but the Hand told us that he needed to discuss a couple of things with us.

"But there could be those who share his sentiments." Otto said, "After questioning those two bastards, we have learned that there are more alleged bastard grandchildren of Jaehaerys. It is not far-fetched to think that they have an ambition similar to Trevor."

"Those two are dead." I told him, "Are you saying that there are still others left?"

"That is exactly what he is saying, Nephew." Daemon told me, "We need to ensure that any dragonseed is eradicated. By doing that, we can secure the safety of our family."

I raised an eyebrow, "Ada Waters is one of them, you are willing to kill her and her unborn child?" I asked, "Her brothers too?"

"That child is Trevor's blood, something must be done about that." Daemon said

"Trevor didn't love her either. He was only using her, taking advantage of Corlys's ambition." I said seriously, "The Sea Snake also wished to have dragons of his own, which is why he decided to have more children with dragon's blood, no matter if they were bastards."

"Nevertheless, we need to do something about them." Otto said, "They cannot be allowed to stay close."

"Exile them." I said, "Send that woman somewhere far away from both us and our enemies. Send her brothers to the Wall, something. They don't deserve to die for crimes they did not commit. However, if they were in terms with Trevor, that is a different story."

"If they contact the others across the Narrow Sea?" Daemon asked me, "How are you so sure that you got them all?"

"You are right, I may not have gotten them all." I said, "But there is no way that an entire fleet of ships was just an expendable piece of power that the enemy had. We may not know much about them but we do know that my actions will delay their advance for a good while."

"Prince Baelon is right." Otto said, "But of course, there is something to be done."

"No, I agree." I said, "But we have to approach it carefully, not carelessly murdering innocents. My question is how Trevor was able to corrupt many men and have them join his side. Qarl Correy, Arryk Cargylle, and Harwin Strong."

"We both know that Harwin was one of those smitten by Rhaenyra." Daemon told me, "As for the sword-swallower, I don't know much about him. I am lost when it comes to the Kingsguard. Something must be done about that."

"About what?" Otto asked

"The Kingsguard." Daemon said seriously, "Why would we allow such betrayal go without punishment."

"Arryk is dead." Otto told him, "What else could you possibly want?"

"I want to make sure the those who replace him and those that still live are true to their vows." Daemon said, "The Kingsguard are the closest to the King himself, what if Arryk had decided to plunge a blade through my brother's back? No, not just the King. Your daughter, the Queen, and her children. Ever thought of that, Otto?"

"He does have a point." I said, "I do not feel comfortable like this. Which is why I wish to return back to Dragonstone."

"What is it you want to do? Ser Harold and Ser Criston are loyal knights to the order, there is no conceivable chance they have been corrupted." Otto said, "The other Knights have served the Kingsguard since before Viserys even took the throne."

"All the more reason to be wary." I said, "Arryk claimed that he stood by and watched us power-hungry dragonriders do as we desire. If those who served Jaehaerys saw things that made them question everything, which may include the truth of what happened to Daemon's aunts and uncle, well....."

"It all comes back full circle...." Daemon said, "Shall I handle it nephew or should we both do it?"

"Matters not." I said, "But it will be done. And I want the City Watch to be on the lookout for whispers regarding more dragonseeds. I don't doubt that there is one or two that have been living under our noses the entire time."

"Hm." Daemon said, "Is that so?"

"Yes." I said before looking at Otto, "I will also have sources in Essos relay information to me regarding any movement on our enemies. The Prince of Pentos has agreed to cooperate, telling me that he does not wish to anger Balerion."

"Very well." Otto said

"Great." Daemon stood up, "It is settled."

"One more thing, Prince Daemon." Otto said, "It is about your wife and the Princess Rhaenys."

Daemon frowned, "What about them?"

"I require to know that they are both well." Otto said, "And that their mind is in the right place. They both ride dragons and they have lost two important men in their lives. Laenor fought bravely and lost his life in the Trial by Seven, which was accepted by Baelon. One would say that the Heir was at fault."

"Baelon didn't force Laenor to participate." Daemon said, "That was his own choice he made. Rhaenys and Laena should not have a problem with that. I will make sure of that."

"Good." Otto said, "Let us pray that all is well then."

"Hm." I said,

"Yea, let's..."

**************

[Somewhere In Essos]

Inside a room, a white-haired woman laid on a couch, her mouth open as another woman placed grapes into her mouth while other girls massaged her entire body.

She slowly took one of the grapes in her mouth and casually swallowed it, giving the woman an erotic gaze as she did so.

"Mmm...." She said softly, "Delicious....."

The woman blushed as she continued giving her grapes.

The doors then opened and a tall and dark man walked inside, "What are you doing?" He said, "Do you not understand that it has been weeks now? Weeks since the Black Dread has burned my fleet down?!"

The Woman looked at him, "Varos...." She said, "You are quite the impatient man."

"Lynn and Daron are nowhere to be found!" Varos exclaimed, "They could be dead!!"

"They probably are." She said with a chuckle, "Balerion set everything ablaze, it is hard to escape that hell alive."

Varos scowled, "I cannot believe you." He said, "It will take years to replace the fleet, the men, everything lost! Why did you allow Lynn and Daron to take control!!"

"Because they wished to respond to their impulses." She said, "They were imprisoned, my beloved cousins....."

"You should not do such things!!!" Varos exclaimed loudly, "I was tasked in keeping you safe and you are making that hard to achi-"

"Quiet." A voice said

Varos turned to the side and saw a man sitting in the corner of the room, tending to a large blade. The man was wearing black leather armor, his gauntlets having bits of metal on it. He had long white hair that was draped over his shoulders and his deep purple eyes were as fierce as a dragon's.

He was not looking at Varos, merely wiping the blade with a cloth drenched in oil.

"Y-You...." Varos said, "You were here?"

"That is right." The Man said, "I am."

"Then you must speak some sense into her." Varos said

"I rather not." He said, "Mother left her in charge, so she is in charge. I only wish to cut flesh, so I care not what she orders."

Varos sighed, "I swear..." He said, "The two of you-"

"Have you heard the news, Varos?" the woman asked, "Baelon Targaryen is to take Rhaenyra as a second wife."

"Y-Yes, I heard." Varos said, "But what does that have to do with anything?"

The woman sat up as the girls moved out of the way, kneeling down and beginning to massage her legs and thighs.

"I cannot have that, can I?" She said with a frown, "Baelon Targaryen rides Balerion. And he was proved to be difficult to kill. I doubt even my brother here could achieve that, so there is no other choice but to go about the second way."

"What?" Varos asked

The woman narrowed her eyes, "I wish to set a meeting with Baelon Targaryen." She said, "I am to be that second wife."

"Not Rhaenyra."
