(Baelon's POV)
"The sky sure looks nice tonight." I said as I looked up at the night sky, "Don't you think, my love?"
I was holding Helaena's hand as we took a stroll through the Secret Gardens in the middle of the night. She could not sleep and wanted to go for a walk. And while I was tempted to go on a flight, I didn't want her to worry or stress.
A simple walk through the gardens would suffice.
I looked at her, she was looking at the moon as it's light shone on her. The reflection of it off her fair skin made her glow beautifully. Or maybe it was in my head, because I simply could not be looking at her without thinking she was the brightest in the world.
"Do you remember, Baelon?" She asked, "Atop Balerion yet under the Moon, we shared our first kiss."
I smiled, "I do." I told her, "It was a beautiful moment."
"Indeed." She said, "And under the moonlight, we also-"
I cleared my throat, "Yes." I said with a chuckle, "We indulged in our intimacy."
"That was a beautiful moment as well." She blushed, "I wish we have more moments like those. And that is what I meant, Baelon. That you are already mine. Because I know I can have plenty of moments like those, moments that have you embracing me with all your love. Moments where I feel your love deep inside me."
I looked at her, "Wow." I said, "You really take it serious, huh? You have claimed me."
"In a way, you are my dragon." She joked, "I mean it."
I blinked, "It is unlike you to speak like that." I said, "What brings you say that?"
She patted my chest, "You make me comfortable enough to say that. The truth." She said, "I adore you."
I looked back up to the sky, "I know."
"Baelon?" She said
"Yes?" I asked as I looked at her
"I wish to apologize." She told me
"For what?" I asked, "You have done nothing wrong."
"When you were preparing for the Trial, Mother and I constantly asked you about her, about our sister. At the time, I did not realize that it was a mistake." She said, "You were risking your life to fight for what was right and all we could do is speak about someone else other than myself, your Wife."
"Heleana…." I started
"It was wrong." She said, "I am sorry. Again, I have taken your feelings lightly. I don't ever want to do that again."
"Its fine." I leaned in and kissed her cheek, "Worry not about that."
"Until the time inevitable comes, I wish to enjoy you for myself." She said softly, "If that is not too much to ask."
"No, love." I told her, "It is not."
She smiled, "Thank you."
I nodded, "Of course."
I saw as she looked up at the sky, her eyes so calm and gentle. I could not help but be entranced by them, they were so beautiful.
"Baelon." She said
"Yes?" I responded
"I realized that my dream was wrong." She said
"What do you mean?" I asked
"Four dead dragons and a crab cleaved in half. And on the day of the Trial, I thought it was three." She said, "I had forgotten that I had seen two dreams….one with four dead dragons and another with three…I was too worried to even realize that."
"Oh." I said, "Well…."
"Only two dragons died in that Trial." She told me, "And the crab was cleaved."
"Right." I nodded, "But those other dragons died in flames."
"But not in the Trial." She said softly, "My dreams could be wrong. It scares me…."
"Why?" I asked her, "Why would it scare you? It is over, that man is dead."
"That's not it." She said softly
"Then what is it?" I asked again
"What if my dream of us living happily is wrong?" She looked at me with a tear in her eye, "What if I am giving you false hope?"
I pulled her in for a hug, "I don't rely on dreams to know that everything will be alright." I said as I kissed her head, "As long as we deal with whatever comes together, everything will be okay. Don't you dare forget that I love you no matter what."
She pressed herself tighter against me,
"I know."
************
"Have you thought of a name?" Mother asked me as the servanrs served us food
I looked at her, "Hm?"
"For the child." She said
It was the following morning,
"The babe has not come yet." I told her, "And you expect a name?"
"Aegon already had the name picked out." She said
"Have you stop to consider that maybe I am not Aegon?" I asked her
"Baelon…." Helaena said as she grabbed my hand
"You think that was an attempt to be humorous, Baelon?" Mother raised her eyebrow
"Perhaps." I said
"I am only interested in it because I care deeply about you, Baelon." She told me, "If you wish to be rude, so be it. Do not complain to me when I am rather cold again."
"Ah, don't be like that." I said with a chuckle
"He has thought of one, Mother." Helaena said, "But he has kept it a secret."
"Is that so?" Mother said, "You best not keep it for long."
"You will find out should a son be born to me." I told her, "For now, relish in the suspense."
"You stress me out and frustrate me sometimes." She said with a scowl, "I want to know the name of my future grandchild."
"I am not going say anything now." I said with a slight smirk, "You are going to need to wait."
"Fine, have it your way." She shook her head and drank from her wine, "I was just trying o make conversation."
I stood up and cleared my throat, "Right." I said, "I apologize. My love, Mother, I need to go and discuss some things with The King. I need to he excused."
"Fine." She said, "I expect to see you later in the gardens."
"Of course." I leaned down to kiss Heleane in the lips briefly, "I will see you tonight, my precious."
She blushed slightly, "O-Of course."
I then walked over to Mother and kissed her on the cheek, "Do not be sour, Mother. I merely jest with you." I said, "I know you love me, and I love you as well."
"Don't forget it."
