Chapter 50 - Chapter 49: An Alarming Fratricidal Rivalry

Amu feels growing unease about the strange rivalry that has developed between Sakolomé and Bakuzan. To ease her concerns, she decides to discuss it with Niyus.

Niyus: "Bakuzan is the one closest to me, and it's not without reason. He has more of a desire to protect his younger brothers and sister than to harm them. I think the rivalry he has with Sakolomé is just a way to have fun; you don't need to worry about it!"

However, Amu doesn't seem convinced by Niyus's words.

Amu: "That doesn't reassure me. I don't even know if you take the time to listen to what he truly feels deep down."

Niyus, pressed to respond, insists.

Niyus: "Of course, I do, just like I do with all my other children!"

With a tone full of experience, he continues.

Niyus: "I'm aware of each of their combat skills. Sakolomé has surprisingly evolved since his time in prison at the age of 12. After learning to walk again, he quickly resumed his training. He's not envious of his brother; he simply wants to be like him to become stronger. On the other hand, Bakuzan—and I know what I'm talking about—is not in the same league as Sakolomé. His goals are guided by..."

Niyus suddenly stops, leaving Amu perplexed.

Amu: "What? Continue!"

Niyus sighs before continuing.

Niyus: "Bakuzan is driven by goals that even I don't know. He becomes incredibly strong by facing even mutants capable of killing Sakolomé. He takes on about a dozen of them alone, including more powerful mutants that have often nearly killed him. It seems he has an insatiable thirst for power, and that makes me think he wants to catch up with me!"

Amu sighs in relief.

Amu: "I hope that's all it is. I often feel like Bakuzan becomes a new person every day."

Niyus chuckles.

Niyus: "Hihihi... he's very... huh?!"

He stops when he sees Amu crying.

Niyus: "Amu, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"

He approaches her and gently wipes away her tears.

Amu: "I'm sorry to see our children in this situation just to feel alive. They're discriminated against by everyone and can't live like normal children. No matter how hard they try, they'll always be judged negatively... I wish I could change that. I want them to have a normal life without putting themselves in danger just because they can't be like others."

Niyus takes Amu into his arms to comfort her.

Niyus: "Calm down, Amu. I have faith in our children. One day, they'll clean up the dirty past their ancestors left them..."

Amu: "Sniff... sniff... my poor babies!"

In their distress, Bakuran sees them and wonders about the situation.

Bakuran: "Uh... what are you doing?"

Niyus lets go of Amu as she wipes away the last tears on her cheeks.

Amu: "It's nothing, Bakuran. Where are your brothers?"

Bakuran smiles mischievously.

Bakuran: "They're taking a shower... together! Heheheh!!"

Amu responds calmly.

Amu: "Okay, we need to let them know that..."

She then realizes the ominous meaning of this situation.

Amu: "What?!?!"

She cries out in concern.

In the shower, the two boys are naked and sizing each other up.

Bakuzan exudes a dark and terrifying aura in the bathroom with his intense gaze.

Sakolomé holds a soap bar in his hand and seems determined not to let go.

Bakuzan: "Sakolomé, don't be an idiot! I'm asking you again to hand me that soap bar!"

Sakolomé shows a provocative smile as he lifts the soap bar under his chin with his right hand.

Sakolomé: "If you want the soap bar, come get it! Unless you're afraid of me!"

Bakuzan bursts out laughing sarcastically.

Bakuzan: "Is this a joke? Fine, I'll come get it!!!"

The two rush towards each other with their fists charged with energy, ready to clash, when suddenly they realize they are floating in the air without understanding why.

Sakolomé: "But... what's happening?"

Bakuzan: "I have no idea!!"

They turn their gaze towards the shower entrance and see their mother standing there, extending her arm covered in transparent psychic energy; she has used telekinesis to stop them.

Sakolomé and Bakuzan understand they are in trouble and are about to get scolded.

In unison, they exclaim: "Damn... mom!!!"

Amu starts scolding them furiously.

Amu: "I can't believe you can't even wash up peacefully! You're not kids anymore, you know that?"

Bakuzan tries to defend himself to escape this delicate situation.

Bakuzan: "Mom, it's Sakolomé's fault! He wouldn't give me..."

But Amu cuts him off immediately.

Amu: "Shut up, Bakuzan!!!"

He falls silent as Amu continues to scold them.

Meanwhile, Bakuran watches the scene from the doorway, laughing with his arms crossed. He doesn't even notice that Salomé has entered the room.

Salomé looks at her older brothers, both naked, and blushes intensely.

Salomé: "Hey... this is the first time I've seen this! In anatomy class at school, we've often seen it in drawings but never in real life... it's weird."

Bakuran quickly covers Salomé's eyes with his left hand to prevent her from continuing to gaze at this unexpected sight.

Salomé is flustered.

Salomé: "But... but what are you doing, Bakuran!!!"
