Chapter 57 - Chapter 56: A Confrontation and a Shared Desire

As Sakolomé, Salomé, and Bakuran explored the premises in search of the mysterious book Melinda had mentioned to Sakolomé, their quest took an unexpected turn. In a dark and dusty room, they stumbled upon Sally, who joined them to help. Together, they searched through ancient shelves and dusty chests until they finally found the precious book. However, their triumph was short-lived as they were interrupted by the sudden appearance of humanoid mutants with strange and impressive appearances.

Yue-Ling-Mut: "The book! Hand it over immediately!"

Sakolomé clutched the book tightly, his determined gaze unwavering. He stepped back, instinctively shielding Salomé behind him.

Sakolomé: "I fear we cannot give you this book. But tell me... Why wait until now to take it? You haven't had opportunities before us?"

Yue-Ling-Mut smiled predatorily, licking her lips like a predator facing prey.

Yue-Ling-Mut: "Excellent question. Of course, we have had opportunities. But the former owner sealed this book with a powerful spell. This spell prevented mutants like us from seeing its hiding place. Like most humans, he feared us... But now that you've found the book, the spell has been lifted."

Sally crossed her arms, her piercing gaze fixed on Yue-Ling-Mut.

Sally: "It's not surprising, given what your kind has done in the past."

Kiyomi-tan furrowed her brows violently, her tone becoming sharp and bitter.

Kiyomi-tan: "Were the Killer Men part of our kind, perhaps?"

A tense silence filled the room as the young Satsujin Otoko swallowed nervously. Yue-Ling-Mut placed a calming hand on Kiyomi-tan's shoulder.

Yue-Ling-Mut: "Calm down, Kiyomi-tan."

But Kiyomi-tan did not calm down. She gripped her katanas with rage.

Kiyomi-tan: "I'm tired of human hypocrisy."

Sally raised an eyebrow and replied firmly.

Sally: "We can't compare humans and mutants. You possess supernatural strength from birth. It's different for us."

Kiyomi-tan sneered with contempt.

Kiyomi-tan: "And so? We're not responsible for your weakness!"

Sally felt the tension rise dangerously. Kiyomi-tan's provocative tone threatened to escalate the situation into violence.

Yue-Ling-Mut: "Well... Return the book to us now."

But Sakolomé remained resolute.

Sakolomé: "I regret, but no."

Yue-Ling-Mut's face hardened as she took a menacing step forward.

Yue-Ling-Mut: "Don't be insolent, boy. Give me that book before we resort to violence."

Bakuran intervened with a charming smile.

Bakuran: "Being violent towards beautiful women like you? That would be a shame..."

Reika-tan exploded in anger.

Reika-tan: "Shut up, you filthy pervert!"

Sakolomé clenched his fists and declared firmly:

Sakolomé: "If I must fight to protect this book, then I am ready."

Salomé placed a hesitant hand on her brother's shoulder.

Salomé: "Big brother... Is it really worth fighting for this book?"

He nodded without turning his gaze from the humanoid mutants.

Sakolomé: "Much more than you can imagine. In the wrong hands, this book could become a dangerous weapon."

At these words, Kiyomi-tan advanced, drawing her katanas. Her eyes shone with contained fury as she took a combat stance.

Kiyomi-tan: "Why continue talking with kids like them? Let's just kill them now."

Sally stepped forward, crossing her arms with a provocative smile.

Sally: "You... I notice your blood is particularly hot. I'd like to bring you back down to earth quickly."

Kiyomi-tan's eyebrows furrowed further as she fixed Sally with nervousness and anger.

Kiyomi-tan: "What did you say there, brat?!"

But Sally did not back down. She smiled mockingly and replied calmly:

Sally: "You heard me."

Enraged, Kiyomi-tan charged at Sally with a deadly dance of flashing katanas. Sally remained motionless for a moment before Sakolomé abruptly pushed her out of the way, allowing Kiyomi-tan to pass without striking her.

Irritated by this intervention, Sally turned to Sakolomé with annoyance.

Sally: "Why did you touch me?! I need to teach that girl a lesson!"

But before she could continue, Yue-Ling-Mut sighed deeply and stepped forward.

A soothing sigh calmed the atmosphere; it was Yue-Ling-Mut preparing to speak.

Yue-Ling-Mut: "I see we have no choice but to take the book by force."

She fixed Kiyomi-tan with a determined intensity.

Yue-Ling-Mut: "You can do it."

Kiyomi-tan nodded impatiently.

Kiyomi-tan: "It's about time!"

She bent slightly and shouted with explosive energy:

Kiyomi-tan: "Infernal Cut!!"

She straightened and spun around with a deadly grace.

The mutants shielded themselves behind a powerful barrier as Sakolomé and the others executed acrobatic leaps to avoid Kiyomi-tan's razor-sharp blades, which sliced through the house like paper. In an instant, everyone found themselves outside under a now menacing sky.

Kiyomi-tan, her eyes shining with defiance, turned to Sally.

Kiyomi-tan: "It's just you and me!"

She straightened and charged at Sally with her katanas raised.

Sally, however, was not intimidated. She countered Kiyomi-tan's attacks with surprising agility, destabilizing her.

Kiyomi-tan: "Apparently, you know how to fight, little impudent one!"

Sally frowned and replied with a provocative smile.

Sally: "Excuse me."

Sally placed her hands on Kiyomi-tan's arm for leverage and spun around her. Her powerful legs struck Kiyomi-tan with force, pushing her back.

Kiyomi-tan quickly regained her footing, spitting on the ground to check if she was bleeding after the impressive kick.

Kiyomi-tan: "Well done!"

She charged at Sally again, and the two fought valiantly in a ballet of flashing blades.

Meanwhile, Sakolomé faced Mut-Armaïda, who fixed him with a cold and impassive gaze.

Mut-Armaïda: "Give me the book... and fast!"

Sakolomé shook his head with determination.

Sakolomé: "Not even in a dream!"

Mut-Armaïda took position, spinning her metallic weapon with impressive agility.

Sakolomé adopted a defensive posture, firmly holding the book he had no intention of releasing.

Mut-Armaïda attacked with her weapon; Sakolomé skillfully dodged each precise blow.

Mut-Armaïda observed:

"You're not bad!"

Sakolomé replied:

"If I were you, I'd leave now!"

Mut-Armaïda frowned, visibly amused by his bravery.

Mut-Armaïda:

"Oh yeah? And why should I do that?"

The metallic tip of her weapon transformed into a glowing hammer, which she struck the ground with. The impact shattered the ground around Sakolomé in a deafening crash.

Sakolomé exclaimed:

"No way..."

In this chaotic confusion, Mut-Armaïda appeared before him and changed her weapon into a sharp blade. With a precise movement, she narrowly missed cutting Sakolomé's head as he ducked just in time.

She continued her attacks as Sakolomé desperately tried to maintain his balance.

Mut-Armaïda:

"You're finished, little shit!!!"

She struck again with her weapon and pierced Sakolomé's arm.

Sakolomé screamed:

"Aaaahhh!!!"

Under the intense pain, he retreated while watching Mut-Armaïda approach her blade to taste his blood.

He realized that this weapon had the ability to directly affect his soul and spirit.

Sakolomé thought:

"This doesn't help... Since when have mutants been so strong?"

Mut-Armaïda attacked again with ferocious determination.

Mut-Armaïda:

"Duplication!!"

At that precise moment, she created a hundred clones that rushed towards Sakolomé, screaming like wild beasts.

A voice suddenly echoed in the air:

"KILLER PUNCH!!!"

A devastating shockwave pulverized countless clones of Mut-Armaïda in an instant.

Sakolomé exclaimed:

"Wow!"

Salomé appeared before him and said with concern:

"Big brother, you're bleeding!!!"

Sakolomé replied calmly:

"It's nothing; don't worry about me; I'm more scared than hurt!"

Salomé sighed deeply before adding:

"I was scared; you should really be careful, big brother."

She smiled and added:

"Did you see how many clones I blasted?"

Sakolomé smiled as well:

"That's great! But be careful; Mut-Armaïda's attacks affect the soul and spirit. You shouldn't let her touch you!"

Salomé replied confidently:

"Don't worry; I can handle it; I'm not the same kid I used to be!"

Sakolomé was still sweating, fixing Mut-Armaïda and her clones while recalling his previous conversation with Sally at her home...

He remembered the advice she gave him about the importance of learning to counter serious threats.

He realized he needed to change his approach against adversaries like Mut-Armaïda who wouldn't hesitate to harm him. A new determination filled his face as he looked at Salomé and extended the book he held firmly in his hands.

Sakolomé declared:

"Salomé, you're not ready for this kind of opponent yet. Later, I'll teach you how to defeat them, but for now, this fight is mine. Take the book and observe!"

Salomé took the book from Sakolomé's hands and nodded with determination.

"Of course, big brother; crush her!"

Sakolomé cracked his fingers, advancing towards Mut-Armaïda while saying:

"Let's continue where we left off!"

Mut-Armaïda retorted with contempt:

"What are you talking about? What interests me is the book!!"

She sent her clones towards Salomé while Sakolomé quickly struck down all the clones before they could understand what was happening.

Mut-Armaïda was astonished as Salomé was delighted to see her brother take action.

Sakolomé smiled provocatively:

"Your opponent is me!"

Mut-Armaïda sneered before affirming:

"Haha... doesn't your wound hurt anymore?"

Sakolomé replied:

"You know, I've had worse in the past!"

Mut-Armaïda frowned, ready to attack.

Mut-Armaïda:

"It doesn't matter; I'll remake your stupid human face!!!"

She struck the ground with her weapon, causing the earth around Sakolomé to tremble.

Sakolomé leaped to avoid the attack and controlled his fall in mid-air before charging directly at Mut-Armaïda, who transformed her weapon into a powerful axe covered in blue magical energy.

Sakolomé charged with a punch towards her as she materialized a magical shield in front of her. Their collision produced an intense vibration that illuminated the space around them until the shield yielded to the power of Sakolomé's punch.

However, Mut-Armaïda skillfully dodged this attack and immediately followed up with her transformed axe.

Sakolomé dodged this attack, but it wasn't over; Mut-Armaïda continued with rapid strikes against him.

Realizing he was gaining the upper hand in their fierce battle, she retreated and changed her weapon into a pistol this time, raising her furious voice:

Mut-Armaïda:

"Die!!!"

She fired six green laser beams towards him; Sakolomé managed to evade them but noticed they seemed to follow his trajectory like guided missiles.

Sakolomé exclaimed:

"How?!"

He accelerated his acrobatic movements to try and escape the devastating impacts of the lasers, which crackled in the air like deadly lightning as Mut-Armaïda continued her relentless attacks.

The laser beams exploded around Sakolomé as he dodged each shot with agility. He realized every move counted in this mortal dance between life and death.

With renewed determination, he concentrated all his red energy around him, creating a powerful wave that erased all of Mut-Armaïda's attacks in a dazzling explosion. This display impressed even her formidable opponent, who recoiled slightly under the shock.

Frustration began to set in for Mut-Armaïda as she saw her attacks being neutralized so easily by this seemingly ordinary but resilient human. She gritted her teeth and decided to intensify her efforts to crush this annoying obstacle on her path to the coveted book...

Thus, their epic confrontation continued, with each fighter putting everything into winning. The stakes were high; not only was it a battle for a mysterious book with immense powers but also a struggle to prove their worth against their respective adversaries...
