Chapter 68 - Chapter 67: A Day in Black

On the Moon, a terrifying battle was unfolding. A creature from the underworld confronted Niyus in a fight he deemed fatal for himself. Powerful tremors shook space, followed by an explosion that propelled both adversaries. Niyus fell on the Moon but rose immediately. He was breathing heavily, fixing his gaze on his opponent without looking away.

Bleeding from the head, nose, and mouth, Niyus stood firm, maintaining a determined look. The creature from the underworld watched him with a semblance of exhaustion, scratches on its torso and head. "I didn't expect you to be so resilient. You're not the strongest in your clan for nothing; holding your ground like this surprises me so much!" Niyus let out a determined smile. "For my family, I must fight and always give my all!" He charged at the creature, and the battle resumed.

The blows were as powerful for one as for the other. The creature transformed its hand into a dagger adorned with black magic, trying to pierce Niyus, but he dodged and struck the creature in the face with a headbutt. The creature recoiled, grimacing in pain, and Niyus followed up with multiple attacks, taking advantage of its vulnerability. "You will die, yes!!!" He struck relentlessly until the creature disappeared after taking numerous blows.

The creature reappeared behind Niyus and pierced him in the back with its arm. Niyus spat blood but still smiled, as determined as ever. He grabbed the creature's arm, adorning his hands with mana, which detached the creature's arm. The creature retreated with one arm missing, looking at Niyus with a chilling gaze.

Niyus was in a critical state, pierced from back to belly. He removed the creature's arm from himself and threw it into space. He realized he couldn't regenerate his wounds, which wasn't good for him in this situation. The creature smiled suddenly and said: "It's time to end this fight!" The creature regenerated its severed arm, which momentarily removed Niyus's smile.

"I've played with you enough; it's time to put things back in order!!!" Niyus smiled again, determined. "Go ahead, attack me!" The creature charged its arm with luminous energy, which danced brutally like lightning. "Who said it's you who will be attacked this time?" It pointed its energy-filled arm towards the planet Earth. "I will explode this planet and kill everything on it, even the smallest creatures, both physically and spiritually!" Niyus's eyes widened, and he tried to dissuade the creature. "That's not possible; you can't do that!!!" "Why not?" asked the creature. Niyus replied: "Your Killer Man eradication project won't make sense if you destroy Earth!!!" The creature laughed. "Hahahaha... It's a project for humans. If I've assisted so far, it's just because it entertained me, but there are plenty of entertainments!!!"

The creature released its destructive beam towards Earth at an astonishing speed to destroy it. Niyus disappeared and reappeared in front of Earth and the destructive beam. He stretched out his hands and the beam struck him powerfully, but didn't progress easily. Niyus was blocking the beam with his bare hands. He turned his head, looking at Earth, and said: "Shield!!!" He created a giant dome that engulfed Earth to protect it.

On Earth, people suddenly noticed it was strangely dark from all corners of the globe. The Moon wasn't illuminating the countries at night, and it was daytime in others, but darkness had become omnipresent. Bakuzan stood up and looked at the darkening sky. "What's happening?" Newspapers began discussing this strange affair, and scientists were suspicious about this phenomenon. Sakolomé, who was with Sally, didn't understand, nor did Salomé and Bakuran from another side. But in space, the powerful beam of the underworld creature was blocked by Niyus in unimaginable power.

This beam released many others that fortunately collided with Niyus's dome and were absorbed. Niyus said, determined, while immobilizing the creature's destructive beam with his hands: "You won't succeed in doing that, I assure you, not as long as I continue to live!!!" The creature looked at him from several meters away. "I think I'll change my mind; your existence is now limited to your story, isn't it?" Niyus asked, intrigued: "What?" The creature continued: "After you fought the God of Destruction and Mü Thanatos intervened, you suffered a great loss. You were saved by Rivhiamë, who did what can be called an existence substitution. She let you be the engine of her existence so you could survive by extinguishing her own consciousness."

Niyus became irritated by this revelation. "How do you know this?" he asked, frowning. "I know everything, absolutely everything. Rivhiamë loved you very much. Knowing you would die, she transmitted her existence into you so you could survive. Her existence is on standby. I will kill both of you now!!!" The creature increased its destructive beam, which grew larger. Niyus also increased his energy wave to repel and maintain it. "Grrrr... damn, it's getting more complicated..." He said, gritting his teeth. The creature infused its energy with another, entirely black, which seemed more powerful than the luminous one.

Niyus's eyes widened, surprised by this sudden power, powerless against it. He was engulfed in an instant, his body consumed by the dark energy that was destroying him. His body seemed to crumble, his fundamental states of existence exploding, leaving only his story. Niyus knew it; he was losing the fight, but not just that—Niyus was dying.

From his consciousness, he saw himself floating in a kind of infinite water, naked, with his hair dancing. "So... it's the end!" He said, with a lost gaze into the void. "I'm really dying for good!" Niyus was in a strange place, the observable Niyus here being only his consciousness in his story, or what could be of it; it was him within himself.

Another silhouette appeared, naked, with long white hair and red eyes, a medium-sized female figure approaching Niyus and gently touching his face. "So, Niyus... is it over for us?" Rivhiamë asked, visibly tearful. Niyus replied weakly: "No, Rivhiamë, it's not over for us... but for me!" Rivhiamë was surprised. "How so? What do you mean? I remind you that we've been one for a long time already!" Niyus explained: "I've broken our substituted existence. I assure you that it's only me who is dying right now... that's why you're facing me now; our existence is separated again. After my death, you will regain control of yourself, and your own body will materialize."

Rivhiamë asked: "Are you serious? But why?" Niyus replied: "I find it unfair that you could die with me. You had already done me a great service against the God of Destruction. Otherwise, I would have died that day... and I would never have founded this wonderful family I have today." A delicate tear rolled down Niyus's cheek.

"Rivhiamë, I don't know how to thank you for what you did for me. I don't know if I could ever repay everything you've done for me..." Rivhiamë burst into intense tears. "No, it can't end like this; you can't die now, no. Let's find a solution; I'll redo the existence substitution, and we'll withdraw from this fight quickly, and thus we can evolve, and you can become the deviant you were before!" Niyus chuckled weakly. "Hahahaha... no, Rivhiamë, it's over now. There's nothing to be done!"

Rivhiamë hugged Niyus and held him tightly, crying without stopping, overwhelmed by the despair of losing someone extremely dear to her eyes.

Niyus, with his gaze lost in the void, saw his life flash before his eyes, from the day he met Rivhiamë to the day he defeated Tatame, and so on until now. He thought of his wife Amu, his children Bakuzan, Sakolomé, Bakuran, and Salomé. "It's really a shame; I'll die without telling you all one last time that I love you... Bakuzan... Sakolomé... Bakuran... and my sweet Salomé... Amu, my tender and charming wife... it's up to you to keep our children..."

The pseudo-sea around Niyus and Rivhiamë was now invaded by the underworld creature's black energy, which was destroying Niyus's spiritual plane at an extremely high level, and Niyus knew it. The black energy also began to reach this Niyus himself to destroy him. His body was seen crumbling and disappearing slowly.

Niyus, feeling this, said quickly to Rivhiamë: "Rivhiamë, are you listening?" Rivhiamë nodded. "Yes... I'm listening." Niyus suddenly thought of Sakolomé. "Sakolomé... my son..." He continued: "I'm living my final moments, so I want you to do one last thing for me!" Rivhiamë stopped hugging Niyus and said with determination: "I'll do anything!!!" Niyus smiled and said: "My son Sakolomé is the only one unable to use mana. I want you to watch over him closely and live within him to help him achieve it. I want him to be able to do like his brothers and sister, to learn to use his mana. Sakolomé is my son, and he has immense potential in him; I sense it. So, Rivhiamë, take care of him at that level. Unlike the others, I feel something in him that could be exploited. I didn't help him; I wanted to finish with Bakuzan first, then take him under my wing alone like his brother. I wanted to do it with all of them, but it's a shame. It's up to you to continue what I couldn't finish. Help him, Rivhiamë!!"

The underworld creature's mana reached what remained of Niyus's consciousness and devoured everything, leaving only Rivhiamë alone in a deep void. Niyus was definitively dead. Rivhiamë remained silent, her eyes lost in grief that immobilized her, leaving her crying without panic, a silence of mourning to bid a worthy farewell to Niyus, who was her friend.

Rivhiamë said timidly: "I will do it... Niyus... rest in peace." Niyus's death was confirmed; his body was lifeless in space, slowly approaching Earth under the empty gaze of the underworld creature, which had stopped its attacks. The giant dome Niyus had created disappeared, allowing sunlight to touch Earth again, and things returned to normal.

The creature watching Niyus's lifeless body enter Earth's atmosphere laughed: "Hahaha... Well, now we'll observe the rest of the events!" Then it disappeared.

As Niyus's lifeless body entered Earth's atmosphere, a creature dressed in white, with red eyes, demon wings, and bandages on her hands took Niyus in hand. It was Rivhiamë. She looked at Niyus's lifeless body and said: "Your body is so cold; I never thought I'd hold you like this one day!" She transported Niyus's body directly to Bakuzan.

Bakuzan saw Rivhiamë arrive with Niyus's lifeless body. Intrigued, he wanted to know what was happening. Rivhiamë landed on the ground with Niyus, tears in her eyes. Bakuzan observed her with suspicion. "Who are you? And what are you doing with my father in your hands?" Rivhiamë replied: "It doesn't really matter."

She placed Niyus's body on the ground. "I'm going!" Bakuzan said: "No, you won't go anywhere if you don't explain anything." Rivhiamë looked at Bakuzan and saw determination in his eyes. She knew that if she didn't clarify his doubts, he wouldn't let her leave. "Alright!" Rivhiamë took over 40 minutes to explain to Bakuzan who she was and what had happened with Niyus.

Bakuzan had a somber look, lost in thought, mentally defeated, anxious, and sad. "Madam Rivhiamë..." He called out with tears in his eyes. "Who is my father's assassin? Do you know their true identity?" Rivhiamë stretched out her arm and showed the appearance of the creature that had killed Niyus with its energy. "It's him, but given the aura he emits, I can understand that it's the father of the underworld demons, the devil himself. Although I've never seen him in person, his avatars often emit this particular aura."

Rivhiamë dispelled her energy and said: "I must go now!" Rivhiamë disappeared, leaving Bakuzan with Niyus's lifeless body. Bakuzan fell to his knees, bewildered, looking at Niyus's body.
